I’m watching POTUS speech for teachers union. He pointed to a woman in the audience and said….

“you have to say hi to me! we go back a long way. She was 12 and I was 30.”

Comments?

peace to you

It seems that way.

So what?

I’m 57 and was present at the hospital when some persons who are now adults were born because I was friends with their parents. I taught teenagers for many years at church. I worked at a private school and had good relationships with students from when they were young. Now they are adults with children the same age.

Only those who want to cast Biden as some sort of paedophile would jump to a sordid conclusion.

And yes, I am aware of the long-running effort to rip photos out of context, literally steal diaries in order to invent evidence, and create endless memes to paint Biden as creepy with children, but that kind of ‘evidence’ only convinces those who are willing to believe the worst about their political enemies with no real evidence, while excusing any evidence that their political heroes are corrupt.

Since I don’t have any political heroes and I don’t necessarily about promoting any political party, I have the advantage of setting aside biases and looking evenhandedly at evidence instead of wishing certain things were true.

Brother, he didn’t say “I was friends with her parents…. Or… she grew up with my kids…. Or …. She volunteered as a youth organizer in the neighborhood… she went to our church….”

He said, “she was 12 and I was 30”.

You can say “so what?” all you want and claim you have no political bias, but it is odd for a grown man to talk about having some sort of relationship with a 12 year old girl and then not explain the context of the comment.

Peace to you

There seems to often be a disconnect between what Mr. Biden is trying to say, and what comes out of his mouth. I do not believe attacking his cognitive abilities is proper. Rather we should point out his administration's horrible record of malfeasance and failure. Our economy was growing at more than 2% under Mr. Trump. It is contracting under Mr. Biden. His administration's stance on the fossil fuel industry has produced inflated fuel prices. This produced rampant inflation.

His attack on our culture has resulted in a loss of military enlistment, and law enforcement shortages.

Mr. Trump was well on his way to establishing border security, and Mr. Biden's administration blew it up.

I am an old guy with a nest egg of savings, but last year inflation removed about 8% of its buying power. The Dem's will say that is not a tax, but a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

You should start another thread about those very important issues.

However, I find it interesting that you said, “There often seems to be a disconnect between what Mr. Biden is trying to say and what comes out of his mouth.” And the very next sentence you say, “I do not believe attacking his cognitive abilities is proper.”

FTR, I did not attack his cognitive abilities. If you watch a clip of the comment, he clearly recognizes the woman and says in a lower voice that he wanted her to say “hi” to him. People in the audience laugh. That’s when he gives his explanation for talking to her, saying they go back a long way and that “she was 12 and I was 30.” He then says “anyway” and moves on.

He appeared to be perfect honest and in charge of his faculties when he made the comment.

You did not say why you posted your observation. Was it an effort to imply or suggest Mr. Biden had engaged in inappropriate behavior. I think so. My view was he was attempting to nullify the suggest she was so old she had been an acquaintance when he was young.

My view is we should attack policies and not people.

Well, just so you won’t have to guess my motivation, I started the thread because I found the comment to be odd. To be honest, I find all the video of him sniffing the hair of little girls to be odd as well.

So, you are saying when he said “she was 12 and I was 30” he was attempting to be self deprecating (he is nearly 80) and protecting her from the idea she is as old as he is?

Why would anyone make that connection? He has been in politics for over 50 years. Certainly he has met people all through that time. Why would he focus on her being 12 and him being 30?

I guess your explanation will be the best the WH can come up with. Maybe they will see your post and say, “yeah, that sounds reasonable, let’s go with that”.

Ever wonder why guest speakers so often point and smile at one or more people in the audience? It is a tactic to say "I am just one of you." It is a manipulative and deceptive ploy. You can observe it not only with politicians of every strip, but with guest speakers in church.

Fair enough. If that’s how you see it. Fair enough

....says he doesn't have TDS also...
Specifically, I said I don't have "Trump Delusion Syndrome" -- That is, I am not part of the mass delusion of people who think that Donald Trump is a good person, was a good President, and a man I should support.

It is a take-off on the whole "Trump Derangement Syndrome" accusation, where people act irrationally because they dislike Trump.

I am, and have been, extremely rational about Trump. I actually listen to what he says and think about it instead of just having an emotional reaction. That's why I have opposed his election and Presidency since 2015. I am neither deluded, nor deranged. However, many of you here have chased away anyone who questions the integrity of Donald Trump or point out his obvious lies and evil actions in light of Christ's teachings.

Legal consequences are coming quickly for Trump in at least the document theft case and New York state's civil prosecution for financial crimes. Both cases are fairly matter-of-fact already, and things look extremely bad for Trump on both the civil and criminal side.

Now I am waiting to see how many around here are going to advocate violence against the United States government for daring to uphold the laws that all of us live by. Those persons will be completely deluded and subject to severe penalties. I'm hoping the majority of this group has the Trump-spell broken and begin to think clearly again. I will welcome you back and won't hold it against you.

For the record, I said I found his comment “odd”.

You are the the person changing my comment to mean “sexualize every relationship”, so you must see it as an issue.
No, I live and work among Trump zealots, so I have heard hours of claims of Biden being a pedophile, while trying to work at the office and participate in family events. I actually talk to and listen to what other says, even if I don't agree with them or think they are spreading lunacy.

If you don't see it as sexual, then good for you. You would be in the minority of the vocal anti-Biden crowd.

Well, people with TDS have been saying Trump was about to be arrested for 7 years, so if you are attempting to distinguish yourself from the TDS crowd, you are not doing a very good job.
