Did Satan have God's Permission

My Thoughts....

It was clear that Satan approached God and was given the approval to test Job....

However, there are no such Scriptures to support that this was the case in regards to Adam and Eve.

They were tempted as are we, and they failed to believe and obey what God instructed them in regards to that tree.

Job was a special case and God clearly came out as the winner.

And again the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them, saying, Go, number Israel and Judah. 2 Sam 24:1

And Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel. 1 Chron 21:1

Who caused this one Winman? God or Satan?

The OT is often written in the absolute sense of sovereignty as by the comprehension of the Jews, whatever happened to this universe must be under God's permission. And this can be express in an active tone. Under such an absolute sense, someone's natural death may be considered as 'God killed him'.

And under such an absolute sense, 'God did it' and 'Satan did it' can both be correct. It's more or less like when asking 'who built the white house'. Under the different situations, you may say 'Americans', or '<the architect's name>', or 'the construction workers'. It is just as a matter of perspective.

Now you may raise strange question like 'So it is the americans who did it, or the architect or the construction workers who did it?' The answer is that any of them can be correct, as a matter of perspective.

In the context of Adam/Eve and Job:

Is there a difference between the words test and tempt.

Job was tested

Eve was tempted

What if any is the difference?
