says he was the only black person up for going to some gang-fighting unit but his co-workers plotted against him, and one captain even said he was involved with the gangs. If all that's true, you'd think they'd want him on that unit. The "Jim Crow culture" reference is just stupid, however.

Since he had gang involvement, they probably didn't trust him. Gang ties run deep.

And Yes, Mr. Biden's use of grammatical error reflects the of bigotry of stereotype. I cringe when I see 1930's movies where for "comic relief" blacks are portrayed as less than the equal of white people.

Too little information here to judge, but racism can be aimed at someone from the same race.

In this case, the Task Force he wants to be on has no black members. But then, he's the only black on the Detail he is assigned to.

Hanks has been on the force for four years, and he is currently the only Black officer assigned to the Gun Violence Suppression Detail. The claim said "due to his high level of performance," Hanks' supervisor, Lt. Patti, recommended Hanks be transferred to the gang unit. If approved, Hanks would be the only Black officer on the task force.

I would prefer the most capable and qualified people to get the jobs, especially regarding policing.
Of course the LEFT would think I am racist for thinking this way.
