Dispensationalism is a humanly contrived system that has been imposed on the Sacred scripture.

Scripture does not mention a millennium. But since John mentions 1000 years in Revelation 20, they assume he mentions the Pharisee's millennium. But the Bible uses the number 1000 as a symbol for "many" a "multitude" or "completeness" in the OT. So it is purely reading ideas the bible never mentions into Revelation 20. Plus, Jesus destroyed Premillennialism using His gospel of the Kingdom.
A millenium is a thousand years, & Scripture clearly mentions a thousand years. And in Rev. 20. context shows it's literal. Satan will be banished 1K years. Jesus will rule the world from Jerusalem 1K years. And the 1K years does expire & Satan will be released.

Rev. 19:19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army

Rev. 20: 9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.

Jesus will be in "the camp of the saints", of course. And how could armies of the earth attack Him if He wasn't on the earth?????????????????????????????????????????

None of the above shows that Jesus ever sets foot on terra firma. Your imagination runs amok*. That's how these dispy fables get started.

*...and contrary to Jesus's own words.

The dead in Christ, including the Old Testament saints, will be raised from paradise at the rapture. The trib saints who will be martyred will be resurrected at the Rev. 20:6 resurrection.
There is only the one first resurrection. Jesus said He will raise those who believe in Him in the last day, John 6:39, John 6:40, John 6:44, John 6:54. ( 2 Peter 3:8. )

Why do you say these things that aren't true? Nowhere in Rev 20 does it hint that Jesus is even on earth, let alone Jerusalem.

Sigh, Steve Anderson. Yeah, I would avoid this guy all together. Baptist have better options to listen to than Steve Anderson (e.g. Dr. Gavin Ortlund).
Hi, VDMA

I see you have offered the usual attack on Traditional Dispensationalism. Fine, I agree with some of that....
However, unless I missed it, you did not address Progressive Dispensationalism. Have you studied it and if so, what are your thoughts?

Well, here's an undeniable one...
Zech. 14:4And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south.
This shows both that Jesus will be on earth and that He hasn't yet returned, as the Mt. of Olives is still in one piece.

And the forerunner of Christ was John the Baptist. Besides raising valleys, leveling mountains, grading the rough places, and straightening highways, he was also Elijah. Matthew 17:12-13.

If the above (Zech 14) is meant to be taken literally it again contradicts Christ's own words.

Jesus' kingdom on earth now consists of all the Christians.

Given the prevalence of sin today, it's obvious He's not ruling here now, except over Christians. by His instructions in Scripture.

And remember, Jesus will return IN LIKE MANNER as He left. And He left by merely ascending-FROM THE GROUND.

(BTW, I hope you & yours weren't hit by the tornadoes. Prayers for all who were!)

Therefore in one day shall her plagues come, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire; for strong is the Lord God who judged her.
10 standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
17 for in an hour so great riches is made desolate. And every shipmaster, and every one that saileth any wither, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by sea, stood afar off, Rev 18

So did it take one hour or one day to destroy the old whore? Is it a literal whore decked out in literal priests' garments riding a literal red dragon with seven heads and ten horns? Do you 'cherry pick' to your satisfaction which is literal in the book?
Everything should be taken literally unless it is obvious that it is symbolic. There is no reason to believe the 1,000 years of Satan's bondage is symbolic.

If you care to prove Jesus taught a millennium, a Pharisee doctrine he demolished, have at it. His gospel of the Kingdom won't allow for it. Are you adding to Revelation when you import the Pharisaic Premillennial doctrine, just because John mentions 1000 years? The bible says 1000 years is a symbol for many or for all. It never mentions a Millennium.
Jesus did not address the matter.

The strong man has been bound and his goods, the Gentiles, spoiled.

And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and cast him into the abyss, and shut it, and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years should be finished: after this he must be loosed for a little time. Rev 20:2,3

But thanks be unto God, who always leadeth us in triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest through us the savor of his knowledge in every place. 2 Cor 2:14

giving thanks unto the Father, who made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love......even the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints, to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Col 1:12,13,26,27

.....To this end was the Son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 Jn 3:8

Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. Jn 12:31

.....the prince of this world hath been judged. Jn 16:11

Not sure what world you are living in. Satan has not yet been bound.

You're welcome! While we might disagree on some Christian doctrines, I don't consider you an enemy. And I wouldn't wish a tornado on anyone except the worst of the worst, such as ISIS.

Because he refuted it exposing the Pharisees to the gospel of the kingdom. Find one time where scripture mentions their millennium. Just because John mentions 1000 years, which scripture defines as a symbol for "Many, All, complete", you assume He speaks of a physical kingdom (in a spiritual book)! One that lasts merely 1000 years. The Kingdom of God is spiritual and ETERNAL.

Same as you.

Satan has not yet been bound.

If you're saying this because of all the sin and woe in the world I've a dirty little secret for you, 'the devil made me do it' is not true. We are perfectly capable of sinning on our own without Satan's influence:

18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but to do that which is good is not. Ro 7

All of God's Saints are capable of doing everything we're told not to do in The Book, on our own, Satan's assist not required.

I'm convinced he has been bound and loosed already.

Again, you are making a strawman argument. Where did we say the Kingdom of God only lasts 1,000 years? We have never said that. Futthermore, Jesus did not address this issue at all.
