Diggin in da Word said:
Yes, it does. Suicide is murder of self. No murderer has eternal life abiding in him. All murderers will have their part in the lake of fire. Yes, I trust the Bible explains itself very well.
Many are blind to this truth though and advocate one murdering one's self.
So we are the keepers of the salvation that God gave us as His gift so bestowed.
Our salvation is completely dependent upon living a sinless life now that we are saved, is that what you are saying??
What you are equating is the same as a person who looks in lust upon a woman (if even for an instant), is hit by car and dies instantly - that they to will be in hell for all adulters will be cast into the lake of fire. And did not Jesus say to look upon a woman in a lustful way that you have even now commited adultry in your heart.
An act does not send someone to hell but a lifestyle (which is what those particular verses denote) that declare you were never saved to begin with. A saved person lives differently than a lost person but they are still suceptable to falling into sin as well. The difference is that the true born again child of the Living God will not, NAY, Can Not stay in such a contradictory life so seperated from Christ who purchased us by His own blood.
Though suicide is a terrible thing and one a believer should not - it is not a sin that condemns us to hell. We are condemed to hell because We ARE Sinners or rebellious toward and have not God. We do not go to hell for sin but rejection of His Christ the Lord Jesus. Please tell me which sin is greater - suicide/murder or lieing in the eyes and according to the standard of God. God states that to break one is to break ALL the law. Their isn't one above another for they all are equal in the sight of God - that being Sin! Yes, there are differing consequences but all the same infraction - you have broken Gods law. But salvation is by Grace through faith and NOT of yourselves... There was nothing you can do to earn it and there is (with great assurance) nothing you can do to keep it, since salvation is of God or better a work of God in our lives.
Let me just add this last peice about being saved:
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
NOTE: saved is in the past perfect tense showing a completed act HAS been done. Which takes works out of the equation and keeps your boasting silent.
It is also in the passive voice which means The passive voice represents the subject as being the recipient of the action. And in no way indicates the action is continued on nor is it completed by the subject. Interesting how one word can unravil such drivil like conditional salvation.
We can not save ourselves and by that token if we can not save ourselves we (with great assurance) can not keep ourselves saved since it was an act of God to begin with. Unless of course you are greater than God who saved you.
