Yes after a fashion, though her role and function was much more than a prophet's, yet it included also that role as a prophetess, though she now sleeps in Christ Jesus, awaiting her special resurrection. What remains behind are the testimonies of the LORD.
No. Apples to Oranges fallacy. The LDS (aka: Mormon), see Joseph Smith as a God, and someone who is from everlasting/eternal (among other things). Ellen G White was simply a messenger of God (like Moses, Deborah, etc), and not God (ever), neither from everlasting.
When she was alive (meaning breathing, now she sleeps in Christ Jesus, awaiting her special resurrection), she was indeed inspired of the Holy Ghost, just as was Moses, Deborah, Daniel, Paul, John, etc.
No. The Bible (KJB) is the primary source, Creation (as viewed through scripture (KJB)) another source, Angels, Visions, Dreams, Voices from Heaven, man-kind, even animal-kind, etc are also used by God to communicate, even as through Balaam's Donkey.
Seventh-day Adventists (true), believe the written word of God (KJB), John 17:17. The written word of God teaches that God may use as many methods of communication as God chooses (as written in the word).

Well, from my humble, submitted, and learned (KJB, history, etc) position, she "promulgated" true Biblical Christianity, which is why I am what I presently am, a Seventh-day Adventist (and not of another designation). Why would I give up such a present position, as I stand upon, simply because you 'said so', without documentation to substantiate your accusation?
Apostate Christianity is Roman Catholicism (of which I used to be and have internal knowledge and experience of (30 years)).

was she just as inpired in her books as the Apostles were in theirs? If you find out that the Bible and her disagree on a major doctrine, whose view would the Sda take? She kept changing her views over time, did prophets ion the Bible do that?

She is exactly same as a Joseph Smith or a pastor Russell, claiming to speak for God but was not!

I want to say, you aren't being serious when you make such a statement, but were to I say such a thing, I would be in error, as I most certainly do think you are serious when you say such an ignorant thing, but being serious about something, doesn't automatically equate to being true or substantial in evidence.
What you define as "Biblical Christianity" merely exists in your own head and aprioric, rather than having any foundational basis in scripture (KJB). Seventh-day Adventists, and thus also Ellen herself, disagree with you, not that they disagree with scripture, but you cannot seem to see the distinction in the two things, as you have made yourself the final arbiter of what is "Biblical Christianity", and anything which disagrees with you, you equate to being in disagreement with scripture (KJB), which is simply not the case. You have conflated the two things into one.
Simply read the written eulogies of non-Seventh-day Adventists about sister White, and they declare, without question that she was a 'godly woman', a 'christian' through and through.
Canright (the apostate, x2) stated:
"...he [D. M. Canright] began to tell about Mrs. White.
“I asked him what he thought would happen to people if they followed the Testimonies of Mrs. White.
“Some months after these visits, at the funeral of Mrs. White in Battle Creek, I met D.M. Canright again. There were six of us men who stood as a guard of honor while the people passed through the tabernacle to view Mrs. White as she lay in her plain casket. I noticed Mr. Canright as he came down the aisle toward the rostrum. He stopped at the casket and looked at Mrs. White quite a while. She was certainly a spiritual woman, a woman of prayer and deep faith in the Lord Jesus.’
“I asked him what he thought would happen to people if they followed the Testimonies of Mrs. White.
“He answered, ‘Anyone who follows her writings, the Testimonies, as you call them, in prayer and faith will certainly get to heaven. She always exalted Jesus, and she taught true conversion and genuine sanctification as few others have. I have known a great many men and women who claim to be extraordinary in their imagined divine calling and gifts. I have always found them more or less arrogant and proud, eager to be recognized and often arbitrary and harsh in judging others. With Mrs. White I found the exact opposite. She was reserved and modest and seemed to have no desire at all to call attention to herself as someone great or to her authority.’

She denied to sufficiency of Scripture, the sufficiency of Christs atonement (binding others to fulfilled OT Scripture - denying Faith Alone), denied (indirectly) Grace Alone (mans efforts are required to please God) and established her own so called teachings on a par w Inspired Scripture. So yes, she is a false teaching heretic

Your 'testimony' is just as valid as qur'an's testimony on the Bible, Gospel and Jesus Christ (which is to say, lest anyone be confused, not valid at all).

If she held to sola scripture, there would be no need for her writings. She is holding people in bondage w her teaching and leading people astray from God

So from what you have written, her writings on not on a par w scripture?

That is a misunderstanding of 'Sola Scriptura'. Sola Scriptura teaches that God uses, Angels, Mankind (prophets, etc), Visions, Dreams, Creation (nature), Animals, Voices from Heaven, etc, yea even His own Son. Sola Scriptura does not deny what itself teaches. What happens is the redefinition of Sola Scriptura to that which scripture does not teach. Scripture itself teaches:
Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
[1] Law/Word of God/Ten Commandments of God
[2] Testimony/Prophets/Visions/Dreams, etc

It was always this way from the beginning, and shall always be. The Testimony itself is subject to the Law of God.
That Daniel was a prophet, and had dreams, and visions, does not negate Sola Scriptura of his day, but is in harmony with it. Daniel wasn't canon yet, though Isaiah was. Same goes for Isaiah in his own day, when his material wasn't canon, but Samuel's was.
