I disagree. Judas didn't know Him at all. Whats more important, Jesus didn't know him.

Seems to me to be more than a simple inquiry. Seems to me Nicodemus told Jesus that they know that You have come from God.... Inquiry? No

Do you not think Nicodemus wanted to please God? He was a Pharisee. Do you think he did not want salvation?

I simply responded to post # 242. You make an attempt to discuss the relationship between man and God with no specific scripture mentioned. If bringing scripture into the equation is grevious to you I am puzzled. I am equally puzzled at posts made by people who have no time to make them. Why have a discussion on a Baptist board about the relationship between man and God that does not include scripture? I adressed free will or free choice which ever settles most gently in your mind which is the topic of the thread. Quite honestly free will (free choice) as well as many issues get discussed over and over again on many boards, and yet some one seems to find the energy to bring them up again. The topic of the thread is in itself calvinist and reformed related.

Out of approx. 60 posts you have made responding to those who have taken part in your op you refute other views with regularity but only twice do you ever mention scripture. It seems there is little to no theology in your theology. It is bold to ask a theological question, and refute answers to your question without any scripture. Often you refer others to previous posts to answer a question but since your answers contain no scripture it should be obvious that the questions being asked have not in fact already been answered.

In post 204 you said "We have to stick to our book of Truth. Once we fall out of line with what God has revealed in His Word, we are in error. This is the importance of doctrine. Doctrine is a fence that God provides to keep us within His boundaries, much like a fence in our backyard is there to keep our children with our boundaries. Don't be worrying about what theological direction I will be headed (such as universalism). The Bible and the Holy Spirit will always be my guide. I hunger for His Word. I hunger for truth."

98 % of your posts have failed to include any of Gods' Word. Where is your book of truth and hunger for His word in your responses? In the end my last post was a direct answer to your op and nothing else.

As gb93433 says, "Every choice has consequences good or bad."

    Here's a question:

Assuming that humans have no "free" will/choice.

Could an ominpotent God grant it to them?

If God says that we can freely choose, and we say that we cannot choose freely, then: "Who is right, and who is wrong?"

    mmmm ....

If 'nothing' is a 'null', and I choose to do nothing then what is the consequent?

Hello again. The reason there is not scripture is because I don't think any of us deny that the Bible claims God is absolutely sovereign, and men are responsible. Why should we try to appologize for what we all already believe? This is mainly a philosophical question, (hense being listed in General Discussions), not only for the Calvinist but also the Arminian. I know some will claim to not be either.... but they need to realize that this is simply a theological term used to identify a theological bent. I won't argue that point. Nor will I argue scripture we both agree upon. Thanks again for your reply. Merry Christmas

    Exactly!

    If we repent = we die . . . .

Since death is eternal separation from God.

    repent = hell

    ;)

I just love using a false premise to support what God wrote in His Word . . .

2 Tim. 2.... Since you are insisting upon some scripture, I'll be glad to provide whatever you think I need to. I'f you've read the posts, you will see that I do not deny God's commanding us to choose. I'm simply asking if our choices are truly "free". But since you insist upon scripture.... I"m still waiting for the scripture that says we have "free will". Will you provide that please? Other than "free will offerings". It must say "thou shalt have free will". Thanks, and Merry Christmas!

You asked - I, among others answered, and I appreciate your reply. If you will show me error in His Word that was presented, it would help immensely. Error will stand until corrected. Book, chapter and verses will set me on the right path, showing error can be found.

Since you have not corrected what you believe to be error, error stands therefore it remains true, except with those who believe truth is error. Read your Bible to know the truth.

    How about...

Jer 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations."

Why is that any different from knowing who will believe, if He is an all knowing God? That doesn't mean He caused us to believe.

Because if He had to learn who would believe in order to elect them, He would not be all knowing. He would have had to learn. God does not learn, He is all knowing. Merry Christmas

Oh, but if He was an all knowing and all seeing God of all at once then He would know who believed same time as He elected them right? Except there was not time there. Again, poor man trying to know the mind of God.

Does not matter. If He had to see what a person would do to elect him.... even if He was present at the time, He would still be learning from man. Can you not see that Bob? Merry Christmas
