Do You Condone Steve Anderson, IFB Preacher?

Should IFB openly condemn Steve Anderson's hate?

  • No. Steve Anderson is a great man of God. We need more like him.

  • Yes. He preaches a false "gospel" and is filled with hate. He needs to go away.

Secular issues aside, why I don't trust Anderson at all is because of his admission of WORSHIPPING THE KJV.

What Bible version he may choose to worship isn't the problem. He evidently forgot that the AUTHOR is greater than any of his works.

I agree, but there is far more to cause one to dislike Anderson. Far more.

I don't run in IFB circles, so I was asking an honest question.

Anderson has a list of churches on his website. When he started his church, he had listed scores of IFB churches, but now his directory is down to a dozen or so.

This pastor and his church were listed in Anderson's directory:

Vacaville Pastor Who Firebombed a House Arrested

Anderson's wife Zsuzsanna mentions being there while on vacation:

On Wednesday morning, we continued up north. I dropped my husband off at the San Jose airport just after lunch - he was flying home just to preach in our church that night, and coming back early Thursday morning. The kids and I drove another hour north to Vacaville, CA, to go to church

I don't think anyone condones Mr. Anderson but I also don't think he has much of a following to bother making a statement against him. I've been vocal here and on one other site where someone was asking about him but no one in my real life has ever mentioned him. He's just a nut with very few people in his church, which is a good thing. The sad thing in my mind is that his children are growing up with this fear and hate rather than the love of Christ. :(

Anderson did not ask for a physical altercation. There is a TY video. You should watch it.

By refusing a lawful order of a LEO - Anderson aggravated the situation.
Yes, I did watch that video - and I have viewed several other videos. on this subject.

In a bit over a decade - over 7500 border agents have been assaulted - and 30 had died in the line of duty.
I do NOT blame the LEO's for being too cautious.

I have been stopped a few times myself - and I always give full
respect to the LEO - its amazing, that I have never had any kind of altercation.

It was not a lawful order. The only purpose for a BP check point is to discern citizenship if the BP agent has probable cause to believe the person is not a US citizen and does not have a "green card."

The BP agent had no such PC. He should have just said "Have a nice day" and waved Anderson on.

DHS spent several million dollars to train and retrain BP agents on what they could do and what they could not do after the Anderson incident.

Another case of "Napoleon Complex" run amok.

I suppose we will have to agree to disagree
So you disagree with two trial courts, the Arizona Circuit Court of Appeals, the Arizona Supreme Court, and the 9th United States Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States?

What case law do you base that disagreement on and how did all those courts miss it?

It was not a lawful order, which is precisely why he won the case and precisely why I side with him in this instance. We are a country of laws, and the LEO was violating the 4th amendment.

Police cannot do anything they wish, just because they have a badge. They are to uphold the law, not break it. There are certain situations in which you must comply with an officers request. This wasn't one of them.

Yes. If an officer has a reasonable suspicion that a crime has occurred, then he has a right to search. If not, he cannot detain you. It's that simple.

Like most people in this country, you find what Anderson did unlawful, but it was the LEO who was acting unlawfully. The proof of that is the 200k settlement, and, of course, the 4th explains why.

We have given away so much of our freedom that we have forgotten our rights, and gladly surender them more each day, so while I hate to admit it, Anderson did something good for all of us by his actions that day.

He went after a member of the Maricopa law enforcement, challenging his (law enforcement) right to carry an assault rifle.

Notice that the officer was not harassing anyone, Anderson challenged him. He loves to cause division.

There are other videos of Anderson doing the same thing to Phoenix PD. There are other video's of him causing the same kind of rukus at other border patrol checkpoints.

I'm a gun owner and second amendment proponent, so I am with Anderson on this.

I understand that it looks wrong (if you aren't aware of certain laws and rights), but legally, he is in the right. The 2nd and 4th amendments are on his side. An officer cannot detain you with the reasonable suspicion of a crime. It is lawful to carry a gun, so there is no reasonable cause on the officer's part. He can't legally ask for ID or gun permit just because he feels like it.

Again, he is a nut, but even a broken clock is right twice a day, and again, if some people don't challenge these LEOs, who are in violation of the Constitution of the US, we are all going to wish they had, soon.

I believe the main reason Anderson has gotten much attention here is because of his KJVO view. Otherwise, he's just another of the many wackos out there.

I live near Huntington, WV, & several years aho at Marshall U. there was a row between gay & straight students. That prompted Fred Phelps to send a band of his groupies there to protest. The Huntington officials, news media, and geberal population handled the situation BEAUTIFULLY! They all simply treated the protesters with silent contempt, not interfering with them in any way, but not giving them one second of media coverage, etc. After less than an hour, they loaded their signs into their vehicles & left, never to return. Maybe the same should be done with Anderson.
