Do you love books?

The most important book you need to be in daily is your Bible but besides your Bible do you read books? Do you love books? Nope not talking about fiction, talking about theology books, bible books, culture type books and the like. By reading I learn terms that are not used often in the common vernacular such as ethical moralism or ethical morality and many others. Sadly some on this board think that if they have never heard of a term then it must not exist. Those posters that think this way have small vocabularies probably because they do not love to read. So I challenge you to love to read books to improve your knowledge and vocabulary.

loving to read fiction isn't really loving books? I love reading all sorts of books. You love to read certain kinds of books and that is wonderful. Others can love other kinds of books and still love reading.

One word of warning: patting yourself on the back can lead to back and shoulder problems.

It is surprising that you extol reading. Your grammar,spellling and punctuation are poor. At least you don't use whom so often now.

I started reading when I was four years old. When I was in kindergarten the teacher would often have me read aloud to the class. To this day I have people tell me, "I remember when you read to us in kindergarten".

I read at least 90 books a year, mostly fiction, but also non-fiction.

I have never heard of the phrase "ethical moralism". Neither has Google and Google has a fairly large vocabulary. So, Mr. Condescension, please define "ethical moralism" for the rest of us dullards.

That's not really a true statement. Google has 476 results for "ethical moralism".

Well I have over 4000 books between hard copies and my kindle. Before getting married I averaged 6 books a week (speed reader) trying to have a least one nonfiction book going a week. Since getting married it has slowed down but now I really only read nonfiction and I probably average 6 a month.

It was about hurt feelings. The fact that he never did actually define his term for JonC is interesting, when you note that he still hasn't defined it but uses it again; while at the same time, derides others for not knowing what it means, presuming that it's because they don't love books or reading.

I find this poster emotionally immature. I have to wonder if maybe he has Asperger's.

Verily, the dearth of educational opportunities accessible to these uncultured adherents of limited vocabulary is a lamentable fact. The scholastically erudite members of this internet forum ought not deride and mock those who lack comparable literacy; rather they ought to provide the ignorant and unwashed with tomes and missives containing robust knowledge and instruction in theological imperatives. Elseways, the prospect of educational uncertainty will germinate into fully-developed illiterate bewilderment. The resultant Luddites would most assuredly outnumber the educated component of this Baptist conclave.

4000 books? 4000 books? 4000 books? Thats allot of books. I only have about 300-400 and have stopped buying paper books as I have too many and do not read as much as I used too. However the other day I bought a iBook for my iPad which is my tablet ebook reader.
