Butt isn't a big deal here either but we don't like 'shut up or stupid' and 'that $uck$' is one of my least favorite sayings but it's on lots of shows. We don't allow 'retard, dumb, spaz or idiot' either unless it's used as in 'that's a really dumb show'.

I LOVE Courage the Cowardly Dog. Stone me if you must, but it cracks me up that the old couple is so oblivious to the timid dog saving them from aliens, monsters, etc.

Diane, I am shocked. I thought Courage would be one of the first things trashed. Myself, and my six year old son enjoy it. Nickalodian has a pretty good selection. We watch Jimmy Neutron, Fairy god parents, and the like. If however, you have a function going on late at night and your kid is up late, dont let them watch the Cartoon Network. Got something called "adult swim". As the name implies, not to good for kids to be watching. As for Animaniacs, never heard of em. And if I might confirm some suspicions of my mentality, I have been known to watch Veggie Tales, (by myself).

Ok I belive that the "porn" animaniacs is acutally refering to the japanese anime. I would not let my kids watch 99.9% of the anime out there. A couple of exceptions would be Hello Kitty, Speed Racer and Teen Titans.

Some other cartoons we watch are Higgleytown Heros, Dora, Fairly Odd Parents, Jimmy Newtron, Arthur, Spiderman, X-Men, and Justice League.

How many people here know all the words to "Oh where is my hairbrush?"

We all forgot the Backyardigans. That's really cute. I love Lazytown.

Courage is just TOO funny! LOL
[IMG] Ever notice how his bad tooth keeps changing sides? Favorite episode was the giant bug they 'took in' who kept sucking the fat out as they slept until Eustus disappeared. LOLOL Miriam loved being super model thin.

The Wiggles is not a cartoon but my daughter loves them. Their christmas video has both secular and christian songs, so for a secular show I thought it was good that they didn't cave into no songs about Jesus. They do have Santa though too.

We also watch Veggie Tales, Blues Clues, Dora.

Hermie is another Christian cartoon that is pretty good.

Of course you can't go wrong with Tom & Jerry. My daughter loves that too!

Be cautious of every secular show though. There was a blues clues show that talked about dreams and there was some stuff I was not real happy with (can't remember exactly what atm). Although the show may be generally good, there may be times when you have to say, hey lets watch something else!

PS. Oh where oh where oh where oh where oh where!!!?!?!?!??!! Is my hairbrush????

Animaniacs haven't been first-run on the air in a long time. I used to watch them, and they weren't at all pornographic.

What you're referrng to, however, is individuals who take a copyrighted character, draw that character in a sexually suggestive pose, and post it on an internet usegroup. Folks have been doing this since the 1930's. Aside from normal parental concerns about the internet, one shouldn't be overly concerned about this. However, one should not presume that a cartoon is evil simply because some schmo took a character and drew it to his inappropriate liking.
I dunno about that. I don't think it's any more or less prevalent now that it was when we were kids. I mean, seriously, look at some of the old Looney Toons and Max Fleischer originals of the 30's thru 50's.

No no no, silly! But, they did have "grey" markets for sexually suggestive animation characters, and in the era of the speakeasy, they enjoyed a small amount of popularity.
