I don't own a gun, but my husband owns a riffle and a shotgun, but I couldn't tell you what kind or whatever that is, that size thing.

I've had guns in the past, but I don't have one now. I've thought about getting one with homes being broken into in my area. I have a retired police officer living next door to me, but then he's rarely home and wouldn't be much help.

I own 2 guns. They are western 9-shooters with pearl handles. They belonged to my late husband when he was in the Sheriff's Posse 35 years ago. I still have the belt and holsters too...black with silver trimming.

I have a Smith & Wesson Model 29 .44 Magnum Silhouette Pistol, a Weatherby Vanguard .300 rifle, and 2 nondescript 12 guage shotguns, right now.

I have a watergun...Does that count.

I saw enough of guns in my 3 years in Korea fighting a war and picking up dead and wounded bodies!!!!!

Cheers,

Jim

Not only do I own guns, I daily exercise my constitutional right to bear arms. Fortunately, I live in a state that is concealed carry friendly (although I wish it was also "open carry" friendly!).

BTW, owning guns does you no good whatsoever unless you practice with them and know how to use them!

Yeppers, not only do I own a few, I know how to use them too!

Matter of fact, the squirrels that are stealing the pecans out of my trees had better be glad there is a city ordinance againt firing a weapon inside the city limits!

I Voted No cause I don't but My husband does.

Just a Note In a City here in Ga. they are required to own a gun it's a law. They also have almost NO CRIME. They all know that everyone has a gun.

My one daughter lives in Roswell, Georgia, not far from Atlanta, the city with the highest crime rate in America, and she doesn't see any need for a gun of any sort. True of most the people living there, even though most of them work in Atlanta.

Guns are designed to kill! The sooner countries get rid of all guns, the sooner we will all enjoy freedom.

Jim

I've been carrying around a big stick for years to deal with that one. Pappa's found out he's got a quite a reputation for being strict and scary with that stick too! :wavey:

Guns are also a tool which one can use for self defense or for the defense of any other innocent victim of violent crime as a last resort. Don't see much freedom in the form of being at the mercy of violent criminals which would love to prey on the defenseless.

Everyone should own, and know how to use a gun. An armed society is a polite society. The reason we don't have home invasions is because there are about 8 guns for every person, in Montana.

Yes. And I know how to use it.

Note to self, go easy on Amy G.

I guess it depends on who has the guns. Guns in the wrong hands have made for a scary place to live in the gang infested cities where kids and innocent bystanders are being hit by stray bullets. Arming the innocent I believe would only lead to more death and suffering since the gang bangers aren't afraid to die. Most of them don't plan to live to see their 19th birthday.

Actually, I was an only child and my father taught me all kinds of "guy" stuff, fishing, guns, yard work, car care. I think he would have preferred a boy, but I did the best I could. :)

I disagree. Most cities have very stringent laws banning handguns. The criminals run roughshot over the law abiders because of years & years of intimidation by the ACLU that says you can't lock up violent criminals if they belong to a minority group. That and taking guns away from the law abiders.

One of the bummers about gun talk is we have no statistic to show how many times a gun prevented someone from being horribly victimized.

But I'm willing to bet the crime rate in D.C. goes way down when they get the handgun ban thing figured out.
