This is a website, where you can sign up for free, that gives you the names and addresses of people in your neighborhood so you can pray for them, and their salvation. The goal is to pray for them and eventually gain an opportunity to share the gospel with them.

5“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. (Matthew 6:5-6)

Does anyone know what this fella thinks he is saying by posting this verse?

I do. I think he's saying that when praying one shouldn't make a big fuss about it, drawing attention to himself, just as Jesus taught in the text in question regarding the Pharisees.

So who is doing that?

I watched the video from the link in the OP. First, it kind of creeped me out, and I would imagine that if my unbelieving neighbors saw that video and knew I participated in that scheme, they would file a restraining order against me.

Secondly, I made the initial comment because the whole system is wrong-headed as to be in violation of Christ's teaching (which I posted).

On what grounds would they file for an order? And how would they find out? As for Christ's teaching, how much different is this from praying in a corporate (church service\prayer meeting) setting? The only people who would know is the organization giving you the information.

So you deny we should pray for the lost. Interesting.

I don't think that's where he was going with that particular verse. I think he was saying by registering with the site you are making public that which Christ says should be private. I could easily be wrong. So, I'm standing by for his correction.

Well it kind of fits. Hey if it is good enough for Calvinists to do its good enough for me.

In this case, I don't think Calvinism entered into the equation. A non-Cal could take the same position on "praying in public."

No, but they do like to reword what you have posted into something completely wrong and then later accuse you of walking back what you never said. OH yea then when you deny it they call you a liar. I really like that one.

Rev, what you just posted is a non-sequitur. It's almost midnight Eastern time. Let's wait until Brian get's home after the AM service to see what he has to say.
