I'm sorry. I edited my previous post instead of answering here. I use various bibles but the one I've used the longest is the King James version.

I guess it's just me but I just can't bring myself to mark up my Bibles.

I use notebooks to mark in instead.

Oh, I can definitely relate to that!

In fact, I can recall a particular Bible I owned that was so beautiful and eye catching.

But I proceeded to mark it up with pens and highlighters, and shortly thereafter came to regret it!

I felt as if I had "defiled" and ruined a beautiful new Bible, and was very hard on myself, thereafter, for quite some time.

Yes, I mark up my Bible (singular). That is, I mark the one I am reading and studying. I don't mark the other Bibles that I just use for reference.

I have marked my Bible pretty much from the time I was saved and studying it. In the beginning it was more just underlining and writing a note or other scripture reference to the side. Over the years this has morphed into using a four-color pen and six colors of highlighters. I like to to "color-code" connected words in a text so that this is easier to notice the next time I go back to it. I also use a Bible with no notes, no red letters, and no cross references, so that every "mark up" in it is mine and not anothers.

My Bible is marked up, written in, duct taped, well worn, and I love it that way! I have numerous other Bibles, children have given me new ones for Christmas, etc., I try to use them, but I always go back to my old KJV. It's so familiar, I can find things easier in it, just like an old pair of shoes. Nothing else is as comfortable.

I have one bible do that with, rest of the time have bible open, and next to my laptop, and the bible software used to study with ois there!

Yes I'm learning the value of having a "mark it up Bible," and a "pristine" Bible, also.
