Do you think these claimed miracles are genuine?

I got another email from Extreme Prophetic saying this:

To me this sounds pretty freaky. I wonder if the whole gold teeth stuff is real or not. Somehow I find it hard to believe. Where is the sense of turning teeth into gold teeth? I heard a preacher say that this is absolutely silly. But what if it is truly from God and God is angered by preachers which say that it's silly?

I, personally, do not believe this.

When Jesus was here on earth, He performed some mighty, mighty miracles in front of and for countless numbers of people. And many believed on Him. Some even saw the miracles and did not.

Jesus' miracles gave testimony to who He really is.

After Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection, the Holy Spirit was sent to convict the heart of Jesus Christ. The real miracles today are the fact that the Holy Spirit indwells God's people and convicts and comforts.

Yes, Jesus still performs miracles. But I believe these miracles today are for taking care of His people and bringing glory to God.

Gemstones falling from the sky and teeth turning to gold and "instant" weight loss dont' speak of the miracles that Jesus performed. Not even close.

Jesus healed people and turned water to wine (in a "picture" of the new birth) and multipled the fish and bread (in a "picture" of Living Bread for all).

Jesus' miracles has purpose far beyond the exploitive and a "magic show" as these things you describe seem to be.

Are they real? I don't think so. Many people today are very easily deceived. Even the deceiver himself or herself begins at some point, begins to believe their own lies.

Golly gee, man, let the overweight diabetics in on this. 45 pounds melt away in seconds ? Whoooeeeee !!!!

But as for me, I'll stick to the good ole diet-exercise combination. Already lost 16 pounds since June 2006 I tell ya.

No, these are not genuine miracles. They are shams and if you get involved in these ministries you will find that their primary goal is your pocketbook. Such ministries have deceived countless numbers of hopeful people, though, so even though you were mocked on this thread, which is too bad, I'm glad you are here to ask questions.

There are miracles today. They are generally quiet and for God's own purposes in the person's life, however. God is NOT ours to 'command' as these sham ministries would have you believe. He does not respond to 'enough faith' or 'the right words' etc. He knows what He is doing and we are to be His so He can lead us along HIS path. He is not Santa Claus in the sky who will do what we want if we are good enough!

I would suggest you request to be taken off these mailing lists and go straight to the Lord. Do not go THROUGH any church, ministry, or denomination. The Lord will lead you where HE wants you to go. When Jesus gave up His life on the cross, the veil in the temple was ripped in two, from top to bottom. There is no longer a need for a human priest to stand between man and God -- Jesus is our High Priest and has fulfilled that role for all eternity. He is also God. You can go straight to Him and He will also help you understand His Word, the Bible, if you ask for that wisdom.

Surely, God can do whatever He wishes. However, I do not believe these claims are tru. As you stated, xdisciplex, whats the point? I was in a place once where there were supposedly gold flecks appearing out of nowhere as manifestation of the Holy Spirit. The Gold Teeth thing was an issue too. I believe that miracles would happen to benefit someone, as they did in Scripture.

My brother went to a house church where this man he used to work for was pastor. It was far from where he lived, and he went thre for a while. This man's wife said she got one of those gold fillings. I knew them a little, but not well like my brother. I live overseas and have not seen them to ask to see the gold filling. It must be weird for non-dentists to be asking to see your cavaties, too.

I met this woman here in indonesia who is always going on mission trips. She showed me and my wife where she got regular fillings miraculously in answer to prayer. It looked like a regular filling to me.

About the gold fillings, if God wants to do something like that, of course He can. Unless the Holy Spirit is telling you it didn't happen, why oppose it? It could happen. Could someone drop 45 pounds miraculously? Sure, it could happen. God could do that. If two or three reliable witnesses actuall saw it happen, then that is pretty good evidence. Anyone can repeat a rumor or hearsay, though.

About the gold teeth and gold dust, I heard about that happening in churches that, as far as I know, aren't into the 'prosperity gospel' at all. In some of the money-focused church, I wouldn't be surprised if people came with brooms and dust pans to collect the 'blessings' if this happened.

What is the point of gold dust coming out of people's hair or gold teeth? I don't know? Do they say it is a sign of something or something along those lines? But can God do things that make no sense to us and that people don't understand? The Bible gives us plenty of examples to show that he does.

Probably not until you express an interest in learning what God's word has for His people. You see, the majority of your questions are answered in prayerful study of the scriptures. Your continued doubting questions are more indicative of someone searching rather than someone studying.

It has been suggested by many others on the very board that the best way to satisfy your curiousity would be to work directly with a pastor who can provide greater opportunity for a knowledgeable and informed answer.

Believe it or not, you remain in my prayers. It may take a long time, but I continue to pray that you will invite Christ into your heart as your savior and learn with Him to follow His will for your life. This will bring you the peace that passeth all understanding. May it be yours, soon.

I just cant reconcile WHY God would do such wonderful mighty inexplicable things, then give someone a gold tooth.

The streets of heaven are gold... So if you went to the dentist and he wanted to fill your teeth with asphalt would you let him?
I have heard of some of this and I won't dismiss it because God is able to do exceedinly abudantly above and beyond anything we are able to do. I just recently went to my dentist and had my check up and from the last time/exam/xrays till this last time when I finally got up my nerve to accually get the work done (1 year time lapse) I went to having 6 cavities to only 3. So I know something happened because the evidence was there... good thing my dentist is a Christian. I have heard testamonies of lung disorders (my aunt), heart disorders (my aunt), and fribrostic cyst Barthilonian(sp?) cyst and cyst in the uterus (this happened to me) all healed. I'm a believer not a doubter. But even if the Lord didn't heal me I would still believe it because of what the bible says. Our God is able!

I believe in miracles, I believe too that sincere people are sometimes deluded into believing that a miracle has taken place, I believe also that people claim miraculous wonders for self aggrandisement as well when the Devil is holding forth.

Miracles are I find usually NOT a physical thing, like betting on a sure thing because that is not what God is about.

A miracle that happened to me was the finding of my way back to Christ...because I was surely damned. I do not care what others think but it still surely happened.

I believe that God can and does miracles also. I personally knew a man healed miraculously of cancer. But why a gold filling? Why a fleck of gold in the air? Come on. It just doesnt fit His pattern of being the same yesterday, today and forever. Just because someone proclaims that something is of God doesnt mean we must believe it.
