Hi ya'll. I see not much has changed on here.....

Curious if any have noticed the attack on Christianity increasing, such as this article points out:
http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=60196

We are under attack and are probably going to be ultimately prevented from defending the faith publicly, through any of the conventional medias, especially if it is construed as offensive by anyone. How soon will our pastors be muffled completely? The Word of God is becoming illegal....

"Congressmen who willfully take action during wartime that damage morale, and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled or hanged."
-President Abraham Lincoln

How did Lincoln know about Murtha, Durbin and Kerry?

No. It means you can't preach against sin.

Sin is hateful to God.

Do you not believe in carrying God's message to the world? Strange view for a Christian.

It should be pointed out that the article deals with broadcasts in Canada, not in the United States. We have the first amendment here.

From the article:
"Parameters regarding what can be said (and how it should be said) are communicated by Focus on the Family Canada to our content producers here at Focus on the Family in the U.S. To the best of our ability, programming is then produced with Canadian law in mind," Focus continued.

"In particular, our content producers are careful not to make generalized statements nor comments that may be perceived as ascribing malicious intent to a 'group' of people and are always careful to treat even those who might disagree with us with respect. Our Focus on the Family content creators here in the U.S. are also careful to consult with Focus on the Family Canada whenever questions arise. Focus on the Family Canada, in turn, monitors the content produced in the U.S. and assesses this content against Canadian law," the group said.

My point would be that, in fear of Canadian law, Focus will ultimately have to make all its broadcasting PC. America is not far behind Canada in this effort.

His evil empire?

Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

And that has nothing to do with Dobson. You can still call evil, evil...as Christians do.

And you made your point well, willful blindness and personal animosity toward Dobson on the part of others notwithstanding.

MP what are Dobson's views you do not like?

What I do know of him, I seem to be in agreement with.

Reply can be very general, no need to research it. I am not going to pick it apart or even debate it, just curious.

Not necessarily.

In this case, it's obvious that your problem is your personal animosity toward Dobson.

It is clouding your vision to the point that you state preaching against sin is the same as preaching "hate".

A very strange stance for a Christian.

I have several problems with Dobson's teachings, but my main point of objection is his penchant for a Christian theocracy.

That's only for the post- and pre-millennialists. We amillennialists are skipping that part.

So you think. EVERY knee will bow and EVERY tongue confess Jesus Christ is Lord. Hasn't happened yet = no such thing as amillenialism.

Sure there is belief in amillenialism. You need to check church history. I don't hold to this particular belief, but some do.

None of them matter at all.

Call it what you will.

Christ is coming in His own time. Better be ready. :jesus:

You can pre this and post this and "a" this till you're blue in the face. It won't change anything.

We (Christians) are such big wimps! Since when are we suppose to be afraid of the world? What did Jesus say?

"Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell" -Matt 10:28

We are commanded by the LORD Himself not to be afriad of the world. We should expect that the world will hate us (Jn 15:18-19, Matt 10:22) and persecute us (Jn 15:20-21). We should also expect that they will use the government, and religious bodies, to perform some of that persecution (Matt 10:16-20).

Therefore I say shame on any ministry that compromises its message in order to avoid offending the world. However it does not surprise me that the ministry started by James Dobson, Focus on The Family, is folding in the face of worldly threats. After all, Dobson has always been a bit too cozy with the world. Biblical preachers and ministries will stand for the truth no matter what it costs (life, money, fame, family, etc).

It is a shame that the church today, at least in the western world, is so weak so wimpy that the truth is compromised in order to avoid offending the world. That is truly a shame. If the world tells us that we can't call homosexuality a sin (ie...what it is) we should all stand on the street corners shouting that homosexuality is a sin. We should confront the world, not with politics and silly junk like that, but with the truth of the eternal Word of God!! It is time for the Church of the LORD Jesus Christ to stand up and tell it like it is. It is time for us to STOP being great big chickens and start preaching the truth. The world will hate us for it, but that is to be expected.
