    It isn't separate from it, but rather PART of it, in the same way that my front door is part of my house and not separate from my house, and yet not equivalent to my house.

    The person I heard this from actually said you are saved first and then regenerated. :eek: I was a bit disturbed by that, um, yeah. . . :confused:

    There is still the unbiblical teaching of Calvinism, that "Regeneration preceeds Faith"

    It is agreed, that Regeneration=being born-again. Now, I come back to the question the Calvinists can't seem to get their minds around. How can anyone be "born-again" without having "faith" first? This is exactly what this means, "Regeneration preceeds Faith". But, wait for it, the Calvinist will have yet another twist to present us

    I don't know who you're talking to for sure . . . but, here's what I understand (oh great [IMG] )

    How do we get faith? From God. How are we regenearted? By God. How are we saved? By God.

    All of these things are wrapped up in our transformation into a "new creature."

    I don't know if regeneration proceeds faith or not. I just take the whole package, 'cause that's what I got. ;)

    If it's so unbiblical, then you ought to be able to find a verse (or verses) somewhere that says that being born again or being regenerated is the result of the exercise of faith. (Verses that say we are SAVED or JUSTIFIED as a result of faith won't do, because every Calvinist agrees that those things result from faith.)

    Once you've shown me your biblical hand--listed all the verses that suggest that faith results in regeneration or being born again--I'll show you my biblical hand.....

    Fair enough?

    I haven't seen anyone here say it is separate from salvation. What I and others have pointed out is that it is not the same as. Salvation is the big umbrella term for a lot of things. Regeneration is not salvation; it is a part of it. To be sure, there is a broad sense of salvation referring to all the process from election to glorification, and there is a narrow sense referring to our spiritual condition after faith, or our physical condition at the end of the world.

    Hi Russel55;
    I can do that for you.
    Act 16:28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
    Act 16:29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
    Act 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
    Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
    This passage also proves that man can seek god and that man has to believe in order to be saved or regenerated.

    Hi Larry;
    Every dictionary in the world says your wrong. Salvation means to deliver. Regeneration means to be saved or bornagain. It is being made all over again. renewed to God. Yet you claim Salvation and regeneration isn't the same.
    I'll bet there is a redefining coming. :rolleyes:

    How long will you keep this up Mike? YOu have been shown many times that you are wrong. Why not learn?

    Can you find any dictionary that says regeneration is salvation? If so, then put it forth.

    Salvation means to deliver. Regeneration means to be born again, not to be saved.

    BTW, Acts 16 says nothing about regeneration coming after faith.

    Regeneration
    REGENERA'TION, n.

    1. Reproduction; the act of producing anew.

    2. In theology, new birth by the grace of God; that change by which the will and natural enmity of man to God and his law are subdued, and a principle of supreme love to God and his law, or holy affections, are implanted in the heart.

    He saved us by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. Titus 3.

    Regeneration means to be born again, not to be saved.

    The "ordo salutis" is just THAT.. The ORDER of salvation... Each part is NOT the sum. The parts MAKE UP the sum!

    Larry has stated all these parts are UNDER the umbrella of SALAVATION. You guys want to make the part (any part for that matter) the sum...

    We are only specifically SAVED after the judgement for which we will be SAVED from ! WE are still in the process of the order... There are things that happened BEFORE we where even born, and things after the call and after judgement.

    The decree of God, predestination, election

    Outward call, EFECTUAL CALL (regeneration) SAVING FAITH

    Repentance, justification, Adoption, sanctification

    DEATH
    Glorification....

    Isaiah 46:10 declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,'

    You guys ought to read the Bible more often, rather than some Calvinistic crank.

    I have never heard of such unbiblical hogwash than this statement:

    "Regeneration means to be born again, not to be saved"

    These people have their own understanding of theology that does not come from the Bible. They teach to be "Regenerated" by God the Holy Spirit, does not mean that you are thus saved. What puzzels me, is that how these Christians can come up with such complete nonsense, and present it as though they get it from Scripture

    Will you ever open your eyes to what the Bible says? Read, and re-read Titus 3:5

    Don't mess with the Word of God. If you cannot accept what Scripture says, then ask the Lord to help you

    What complete nonsense. Regeneration is not to be saved. So Paul got it wrong in Titus 3:5, and you got it right? He uses the terms "Saved", "Regeneration", and "washings" for EXACTLY THE SAME EVENT

    Can you understand this?

    Do you really understand what you wrote?

    Titus 3:5 tells us [1769 KJV]:

    Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

    It is always by His mercy that God chooses some to salvation otherwise no one would be saved.

    What I understand is that you have not read Titus 3:5 closely. Titus 3:5 does not say salvation is hte same as regeneration. It says that salvation comes by regeneration. That is entirely different. I asked you before to defend your position from 3:5, and as I pointed out, your own words actually contradicted yourself. It was a classic moment. Most people don't shoot themselves down while trying to defend their position, but you did. It is on page 4 where you tried in vain to prove your point, and I showed that you missed it and proved yourself wrong.

    I urge you, as I have Mike, to learn some things. Ignorance is not a virtue. We are all ignorant about some things, but there is no need to continue. You have been told the truth here. Don't continue to deny it in order to prop up your own system of thinking. Accept God's word.

    "Salvation comes by regeneration"

    So, when does this happen, a week later?

    I think that you have decided to make a distinction between "salvation", and "being saved". Can you back this up from Scripture?
