You're probably correct--incorrect definition--but that doesn't change the fact as to what i was asking about.
I feel like half the struggle in Christendom, concerning understanding one another, is the fact that we do not define the words we choose.
I heard a preacher recently say, people take this scripture and ask what does it mean?
Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
He said what does it say?... Does it mean what it says?... The problem with understanding this scripture is too many use human logic to do it... There is no doubt in my mind he said that Gods love is perfect, if it wasn't, there is no Salvation for us... No body would argue with that!... But when it comes to Gods perfect hatred some say well he doesn't hate he just loves less... If that is the case he says, you brethren may have Eternal Salvation and then again you may not?... That maybe your God but it surely is not mine!... I totally agree with what he said and I may not understand it, but I agree with what it says!... Brother Glen
