It it necessary? No! Why? If you study the original languages then you can verify their translation. Rather, I think the overarching editorial principle should be considered. However, I do not doubt that on every major committee since KJV there were translators who were not Christians. Some translations were good and others were not.
You've asked this question before and I've answered that it absolutely doesn't. Do we think our theological proclivities impute themselves supernaturally through the text?
I'll bet you this...we can line up five contemporary versions next to each other and there is no way to tell the difference between them as relates to whether one is translated by inerrantists or non-inerrantists.
