Did Jesus need to be saved?
Why did Jesus need to exercise faith?
1 John 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by the water and the blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
1 John 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
John 5:19,30 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many;
but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
Hebrews 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises,
That included Abraham. Has Abraham even today received the promises?
What about the one seed above in bold, Christ, has he received the promises.
The promises are made to him also, are they not? Actually only to him and Abraham, correct? Yet Abraham still hasn't received them. Your question, why did the Christ, Jesus need to be made any promise. Is he not the seed to whom the promise was made? See verse 19 of Gal 3 Does the promise have to do with inheritance? See verse 18 Are we to be joint heirs of something with this seed to whom the promise of inheritance was made? See Rom 8:17
Why would the Christ have to inherit anything?
Whoever wrote this is very confused. Jesus received the promise of the Holy Spirit. That is what it says. Why would Jesus need to receive the promise of the Holy Spirit. He gave us the promise of the Holy Spirit. He is God. He didn't need a promise. He is the one who gives us promises. He is the Word, the second person of the triune Godhead.
John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away:
for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
Why not? Why didn't the second person of the triune Godhead not just go ahead and give them the Holy Spirit? Why did he have to go away? What if he had decided to not go away? Did his going away have anything to do with his
obedience unto death even the death on the cross? Did the second person of the triune Godhead die for your sins? How long was he dead? What is the definition of
this death of which he died even though you don't really believe he could die, being God? After he went away, what happened after that.
Acts 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up. (God the Father raised Jesus Christ his Son from the dead.) Gal 1:1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead) Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and
having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
Yes Jesus received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father and then the Comforter was sent to his disciples. He went away, Died. His Father raised him from the
dead Gave him the Holy Spirit and the Comforter was shed on us.
Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith,? asked Paul.
Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of the faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
4 resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
Do you think his being obedient unto death even the death of the cross had anything to do with Jesus being the author and finisher of
the faith?
Obedience of faith.
What did Jesus the Christ do that they heard about by which they received the Spirit? -----He Died, shed his life's blood, poured out his soul unto death.
