Speaking from my own experience, I've never been in a Baptist church that ever disciplined its members for anything. So does your Baptist Church practice excommunication or do they leave them alone and preach from the pulpit, hoping they will repent soon?
In fact, growing up as Independent Baptist, I'd never seen it, nor experienced it.
As it stands, I should have been admonished on multiple occasions ( and even been put out of the fellowship temporarily ), to get my attention...but never was.
I've also never heard about anyone who ever was, at least in all the time that I was a member of the two that I was involved with in my area, attended a Baptist Christian school, etc...
And I knew of several when I was a teenager and into my twenties ( mostly guys, but there was an occasional girl ) who were involved in things that were even more shameful than what I was.
Basically, church discipline in the Baptist circles I was involved in ( and there were at least 5-7 churches in my area that were in that circle ) did not consist of anything near what 1 Corinthians 5 lays out.
