That is EXACTLY my point!

Either he has been planted by God in that church to learn and grow in some area of need and is quenching the leading of the Holy Spirit in his own life by the continued contentiousness he is presenting by his "disagreeing" or he wasn't lead by the Holy Spirit in the first place and joined the assembly out of some other obligation.

Those folks who just have to think everything has to fit into their little box of what they consider right need to remember that in the planting of the assembly EVERY member is obligated to each member to enhance them according to the gift God has given.

It has been obvious for some time that the author of the OP struggles with those that he disagrees, and IMO the Lord (if He actually lead him to that assembly) is making a great effort to edify the young man - if no more than in tolerance and understanding that not all "evangelism" has to fit into what he considers the "only" method, or the "best" method.

If in fact he was lead by the Holy Spirit to join that assembly, then he needs to mature in what the Lord provides through that assembly.

If in fact he was not lead by the Holy Spirit to join that assembly, then he has quenched the leading of the Holy Spirit in his life, needs to repent, and quit demeaning others with which he disagrees.

It all comes down to the work of the Holy Spirit in his life and the life of those believers.

I wanted to get involved more at my church but we simply do not agree on many subjects so I am not allowed to teach there.

Teaching is not the only way to be involved. There is groundskeeping, cleaning, general maintenance, ushering, etc. At one church, I was on rotation as a parking-lot greeter...which was enjoyable.

Surely you mean non-Calvinists.

Probably afraid I might make a Calvinist statement and then people would question the churches doctrine.

More likely they don't want to have someone sow division in their church body.

To the OP, if preaching repentance, preaches against sin by its name, is unashamedly pro-life, marriage between one man and one woman, importance of preaching the gospel taking precedence to social actions, then yes, my church preaches controversial topics.

I want to be Biblical yes and teach what the Bible teaches. The only thing that matters is staying true to scripture, and NOT staying true to Baptist tradition when it conflicts with scripture. Baptist tradition does not take precedence over scripture. Scripture is the authority.

Well I signed up to be a part of the evangelism booth for the upcoming fair in my area. I won't be outspoken or vocal in my disagreement with their methods, but when speaking with a sinner one on one I resort to doing things The Way of the Master.

I want to be Biblical yes and teach what the Bible teaches. The only thing that matters is staying true to scripture, and NOT staying true to Baptist tradition when it conflicts with scripture. Baptist tradition does not take precedence over scripture. Scripture is the authority.

Its one of the reasons why I prefer "Bible Churches" because they are mostly scripture oriented and do not let tradition conflict with scripture.

I don't know why people on this board are so anti Law in evangelism. They mistakenly think that Comfort designed the method but he did not! John Bunyan, Martin Luther and many others advocating using the law in evangelism as well.
