Factor in inflation and it is still cheaper than when I was a teenager.

When you were a teenager, the Hittites had not yet invented horseback riding. But I appreciate your lack of concern for the plight of the poor.

As "you-sual" -- wrong.

Gas when I was a senior in high school was 21 cents a gallon. that's the same as $1.28 today. Check it out for yourself.

Maybe you should make a blanket statement about the Bible now. Oh, wait. That didn't work out too well for you either, did it?

Better yet, just give up and stay away.

I can remember times when there would be a gas war, and you could buy it for 15 cents/gal.
People would drive several miles to fill up if the local price was more than 17 cents/gal.
Pity we can't keep the "GOOD" parts of the "Good ole days" along with the "GOOD" parts of today.

Wow, when I first started driving in 1972 gas was around 30 cents per gallon, that came out to $1.60. I would LOVE to pay that today.

A buddy and I took a trip out west in Feb. '73, and I remember how mad we were that gas was 45 cents a gallon out in New Mexico and Arizona, but you had to pay it, then next gas station might not be for 200 miles! That still only works out to $2.40 today, what a bargain!

As Donald Trump noted, the middle class is taking a big hit on gas prices. Gas has now been over $3 per gallon for 1245 days.

Sorry, but that is wrong. Just earlier this year I was paying $2.82/per gallon. And that includes federal excise tax on gasoline @ 18.4 cents per gallon and 30 cents per gallon of state tax, plus 8.25% sales tax.

Gas is slightly more expensive today than when I was a late teen in 1963. In 1963 I paid .26/gallon. Adjusted for inflation that equates to $2.01 today.

It is based on the national average. You were fortunate to be on the low side. Some of us have been hovering at or above $4.00 a gallon for a few years now. Hurts when you have to drive 75-80 miles a day just to go to work.

Yeah, but I don't live in the US. I live in Texas. We pump our own crude out of our own wells on our own property and refine it in our own refineries and sell it in our own service stations. :D

But you have to drink high fructose corn syrup in your Dr Pepper like the rest of us.
