"Dogs, cats in heaven," says the Pope. Do you believe?

Pope Francis finally confirmed what no Pope before him would .... your pets will be in heaven, too! This followed his consoling a child who had just lost her family pet. And in a way, it surprises me that the Vatican didn't hold this to be true a long time before now, after all .... the local Catholic churches hold a blessing of animals every year.

I happen to believe this to be true, but what about you?

He does err because he does not know scripture. His statement is based on the fallacy that our permanent dwelling place with God will be in heaven. He needs to spend more time in revelation.

I am undecided.

Question?

Where does the death of an animal come from?

The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

Last enemy is being destroyed, the death. 1 Cor 15:26

Romans 8:20 YLT for to vanity was the creation made subject -- not of its will, but because of Him who did subject it -- in hope,
Romans 8:21 YLT that also the creation itself shall be set free from the servitude of the corruption to the liberty of the glory of the children of God;

Humanity is the only beings which are created to exist into eternity.

Animals will not. They cannot, for they do not have the image of God within them.

But, but, but, they are so sweet and cuddly, and heaven wouldn't be the same with out Rover. I mean, God is supposed to be a God of love right? Why wouldn't he let Garfield in knowing that my whole world revolves around him? That's just so unfair, I can't believe God would do something like that!!

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Heaven will be a place of perfect happiness. No matter what is there, it will be perfect for our new glorified bodies and desires.

With that being said, I have no problem telling a child that their pet went to Heaven.

I am still undecided.

What is the word,"hope," relative to? What all is inclusive in the word, "creation"?

BTW I lean toward my pets not being in the kingdom of God. however above.

That is stretching it.

He finally said something his handlers don't have to issue a statement against. "Uhm, what His Popeness REALLY meant was....." and so on and so forth.

Was he speaking ex cathedra? Is this an infallible dogma of the RCC now that animals go to heaven? Do we have to pray them out of Pupatory like we do our relatives? Now which part of the Bible tells us all this again?

An animals spirit returns to the earth

I'm curious that no one has mentioned this, plain_n_simple. I'm also curious what scripture you used to formulate this opinion. And yeah, I'm admitting that I can't think of any scripture off hand that states an animal's spirit comes from and returns to the earth.

While it is true that Mankind became a living soul when God breathed the breath of life into the First Adam, there is no record of this Spirit ever having been given to any other creature, including Spot and Sylvester.

There is an abundance of evidence that Man separated his God-given Spirit from The Creator through willful disobedience, aka: The Fall. Man continues to disobey God even through today. There is a reckoning on the way, probably sooner than later.

Jesus paid it all.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
