Not quite. Republicans have realized the debt limit ceiling needed to be raised but they favored tying other measures onto the bill to try and get real changes in the budget and debt reduction. Trump's deal has no strings attached. It will be up to the House GOP to add items about debt reduction or other policy goals. This will, of course, have the effect of the GOP getting blamed if there is any government shutdown (which would happen anyway, I guess, but now Trump will say he is blameless.)
The GOP (Rinos) do not want to cut the deficit or the debt. They want to lie about it and make their constituents think they want to cut it. If they wanted to, they would do it. No excuses.

Kind of like how if Trump wanted to deport illegals he would do it.

Another lesson from the master.
----
President Trump said Wednesday changes to retirement savings accounts could still be included in the Republican tax plan, backing away from his previous insistence they not be touched.

“Maybe it is and maybe we’ll use it as negotiating,” Trump told reporters at the White House.
----

So, basically, negotiating on this is over.
Might as well announce you are not really going to change the 401k plan, and that you are outright bluffing if you say you are.

The President is having a great week. Not only is the economy improving, he's now closing in on some major legislation, that might happen this year. And your "Russia narrative" is flipping onto the Dems.

Yet you're so biased (worse than the MSM) you can't bring yourself to admit reality. Just be happy for your country and countrymen for a change.

Hey, way to comment on my post. Very relevant to his flip-flop on 401k's and obviously transparent negotiating "tactic".

I'm saying it's difficult to have a rational discussion with you about Trump. The biased is so strong, everything he does in your mind is foolish. There's nothing I an say to change that.

I'm saying it's difficult to have a rational discussion with you about Trump. The bias is so strong, everything he does in your mind is awesome. There's nothing I can say to change that.

WASHINGTON — Congress' top Democrats abruptly pulled out of a planned meeting with President Donald Trump on Tuesday after he declared he didn't "see a deal" ahead with them on taxes and federal spending, casting doubt on prospects for averting a government shutdown at the end of next week.

On Twitter just hours before the scheduled meeting at the White House, Trump also accused Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer of New York and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California of being soft on crime, taxes and illegal immigration.

Awesome technique, there Master Negotiator. Call a meeting with the minority leadership in Congress, then insult them, then say there will be no deal.
