Donald Trump caught privately wishing he’d sided more thoroughly with white supremacists

While it is probably a moot point in this political climate, this is neither NEWS nor is it a CURRENT EVENT (as this section of the board is misnamed). This is an OPINION based on HEARSAY from an EXCERPT of an as yet UNPUBLISHED book. We don't even have a direct quote from the source, let alone a direct quote from Donald Trump to evaluate these strong opinions by. What we definitely do not have is the context of the statements to go with a complete statement.

The importance of full quotes taken in context:

  • "Then he went away and hanged himself." [Matthew 27:5] "Go and do likewise." [Luke 10:37]

Some good general advice:

  • [Proverbs 18:17] In a lawsuit the first to speak seems right, until someone comes forward and cross-examines.

I don't think that mainstream America ever jumped all over Trump. From what I saw here on the Baptist Board and elsewhere, it was the Dems and the left that tried to make a case out of the remark. I thought Trump was too generous to Antifa, which we know now is a bunch of upper-middle class white kids who like to attack women, children, the elderly and the disabled and who are into all kinds of drugs and perversions.

“That’s right, Trump wishes he had continued siding with white supremacists, even after they murdered Heather Heyer at their rally.”

Donald Trump caught privately wishing he’d sided more thoroughly with white supremacists

Woodward has no shame. Here is the excerpt from the book:

At the urging of advisers, he then condemned white supremacists and neo-Nazis but almost immediately told aides, “That was the biggest <expletive> mistake I’ve made” and the “worst speech I’ve ever given,” according to Woodward’s account.

Notice that "advisers" urged him to give the speech but Trump subsequently complained to "aides". That's two groups of people. Seems to me Trump would have complained to the same advisers that told him to give the speech. Notice no sources are named. Why not?

Because it's a lie. Just like the title to this OP.
