Some interesting stats I just came across, BTW, to put things in perspective regarding abortion.

Average # of deaths per day in US:

    Abortion: 2,408
    Heart disease: 1,773
    Cancer: 1,641
    Medical error: 685
    Accidents: 401
    Stroke: 401
    Alzheimer's: 332
    Diabetes: 228
    Flu: 150
    Suicide: 128
    Opioids: 115
    Drunk driving: 28
    Underage drinking: 11
    Teen texting-and-driving: 8
    All Rifles: 1

    source

Yeah, we need to chill on this abortion stuff, and focus on those assault rifles.

This kind of fake, hypocritical and whiny responses are exactly what makes Trump’s jokes so funny. The opposing TDS crowd would be wise to understand that…

He didn't answer me on this, he won't answer you either because he can't. It was a ridiculous use of that verse completely out of context. When pointed out his answer really was just "yes it does apply!"??? Good grief.

Do not allow the affairs of the world to distract you from your mission to spread the gospel.

So you aren't going to exegete the passage you gave to show how it applies? Noted.

I thought I did so. I guess I don't understand what you are asking for.

How fitting that you would quote this verse to no one in particular in the very thread where you yourself, from the very outset, partook in a very vulgar misinterpretation of Trump's speech. Sounds very much like you wish to be numbered with them.

I usually play at least 21 gospel songs during my 3 hour show. In months with 5 Saturdays, the fifth Saturday is an all gospel show. The Saturday between Good Friday and Easter Sunday is an all gospel show.

How fitting that you ignore the camel and swat at the gnat. You are at least consistent in that.

And I really think that is the heart of the neverTrump movement.

Matt. 23:23 “...You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.

If turning your back on the unborn over Trump hatred isn't the fulfillment of this statement, I don't know what is. The idea that offering justice and mercy to the unborn hiders the gospel is a lie. Unfortunately, it's all over the Church right now.

Politics is downstream from culture. Even with what Trump supporters think is a good thing that He is president the culture has continued pell-mell in its descent and appears to be accelerating. You can’t change people’s hearts through politics. That is done through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jesus told us that as His followers we would have trouble in this world from non-Christians. So many Christians seem to chafe at the idea that following Christ should cause them to be persecuted or even to be inconvenienced and instead they look to the government to beat up their neighbor for them if they are.

When it comes to protecting the innocent, we're not trying to change people's hearts. We're trying to protect them from being murdered. We're trying to give the unborn the same political protections you enjoy.

Culture is not bad or good, in and of itself. Culture can be bad, and it can be good and it can be a mixture. There is no command to avoid everything to do with culture. You would call the police (a governing authority) in a heartbeat if your own life was in danger. Yet you turn your back when others need this protection. That's not piety it's cowardice. You pretend you can't evangelize and do good. It's a lie.

No liberal has any right to tell other Christians who to vote for.

They'd best just stay in their corner and be quiet.

Considering the choices, he's the man.

Anybody can express their opinion as to who to vote for or who not to vote for. I can ignore your opinion just as you can ignore mine.

Maybe it's those Christians who have brought disgrace to the cause of Christ through their their almost worshipful adoration of a vulgar man like Donald Trump who had best just stay in their corner and be quiet.

Not true. In a democratic republic they are inseparable, each influencing the other in every sphere.

Or do you really want to claim that, as an office seeker, your plan was to listen to the loudest voices of the culture and do their bidding regardless of how good or bad that might be?
