You should give it up.
You can't define what "It" is.
I suggest you watch the video very carefully and listen to learn not listen to disprove. Nothing you have said about what Dr. Fuller says is anywhere near the actual reality.
I watched it carefully and fully and thoughtfully.
You are just saying "NO TAIN'T SO" at this point.

I disagree with you Mithchell, and the good doctor, and I've expressed why I do. Put your big-girl panties on and deal with it.

Seriously???
I'm not "miserable".
I know you're grasping.

A video from the arch-Calvinist "Founders" group got you up in arms. I wonder if you even watched the video enough to KNOW it was from the Founders Ministries...That's an arch-Calvinist group which is trying to subvert the same SBC you love, Mark.
Now, rather than respond to my critiques, you simply insult.

My critiques are reasoned.....I'm starting to think you didn't even carefully watch the video all the way through.
Did you?

Give me a break You have been completely insulting. Further your adhominem does nothing to address the content. Also you know nothing about my views on the SBC. You continue to mind read here and make assumptions.

Your critique was shallow and completely misrepresented what Dr. Fuller said. Hence I asked you if you actually watched the video in full or to learn what he actually meant rather than to disprove.

The misery in which I speak is a result of your insults.

Give me a break You have been completely insulting.
I have been insulting...but, no more than you have.
Further your adhominem
I've engaged in no ad-hominems.
Also you know nothing about my views on the SBC.
I know a LOT about your views on the SBC...you debate them here regularly.
I read this forum far more than I post on it.
You continue to mind read here and make assumptions.
No, I read your posts...I've been reading your posts for nearly a decade.
I know what your views are on SBC. Actually, I respect your desire to resurrect, protect and defend what you think is right in the SBC.

You see, you know what is good in the SBC...that is, the thousands of churches which are honestly godly, Christ-honoring and full of wonderful Bible-believing Christians who want to do what is right and also have no truck with liberalism...
I don't know EXACTLY where you grew up, and had your early education....but, I know it was quite close to mine.
I grew up in a Bible-Believing SBC Church in Ocala Florida.
I DO know you Mitchell.
Your critique was shallow and completely misrepresented what Dr. Fuller said.
Then explain HOW it misrepresented him...I'll stand for fair debate. Fuller had the opportunity to lambast another not there to defend themselves, and Founders (heretics) was there to pile on.
If my critique was unfair....fine...explain HOW.
Don't just insult and trash believers.
Hence I asked you if you actually watched the video in full
You NEVER asked if I watched the video in full...
You assumed I didn't, and posted with the assumption I didn't
I absolutely did....very slowly and critically.....TWICE before I posted anything.
or to learn what he actually meant rather than to disprove.
I know what he meant....Did YOU even know it was a Founders slander???

Tell me honestly, did YOU watch the video?
It was a Founders Ministries slander.
Did YOU even know that???
I did, because I actually watched it, and with a critical eye.
The misery in which I speak is a result of your insults.
Put your big girl pants on.

No, you don't. You have a more limited one.
You think you do.
And you come by it honestly, because you tend to assume every Bible author's intention is to reinforce the same Theological premises.

I used to think that way.

It's wrong.
It isn't a "higher" view, of Scripture....
It's one which makes you comfortable and conforms to what you want to make God write to you.
I think God can inspire what he wants....I don't insist he write in a way which is exclusively comforting to the conventions of Western thinkers of the last 400 years.

I understand that God didn't write the Bible to a bunch of white guys during the Reformation.
He inspired a book that spans continents, world-views, value-systems, presuppositions and expresses truth to all Nations, tongues and peoples.

Job is so far removed from Paul that it is somewhat analogous to someone in Baghdad in the 11th century writing to someone in the 20th century America (and in a different genre altogether).

Therefore, (since my view of Scripture is higher than yours) I understand that Job is not trying to accomplish the same things that Paul is...

God isn't a white Indo-European Mitchell.....(Job sure as heck wasn't)

Expand your horizons.
Do you hold to full or limited biblical inspiration view?

The needs to shut down any liberalism, and also to watch out for Charismatic Chaos!

Postmodernism in Dr. Jonathan Pennington’s Writings

In Dr. Al Mohler’s attempt at damage control, Southern Seminary has released two video responses to Dr. Russel Fuller’s first and second whistle-blower interviews. In the first video, concerning the writings of Dr. Dominick Hernandez, which reflect a higher critical view, Dr. Hernandez essentially contradicts some of his own writings without recanting or apologizing for them.

You can find the related documents, including Dr. Fuller’s compilation of concerns here: Dr. Dominick Hernandez Documents.

In the second video, Dr. Jonathan Pennington, who has advocated a kind of postmodernism for years, essentially answers irrelevant questions with standard orthodox answers. Rather than contradict his former work, he seemingly obfuscates the actual issues by dwelling on the perimeter of Dr. Fuller’s concerns while carefully evading them.

Pennington’s stated belief is that “evangelical hermeneutics is so driven to prove the verifiability and reliability” due to possible insecurity and fearing the “loss of authority of the Bible.” Paper 1, 10

In the third and final installment of the "Downgrade at Southern Seminary" series, Russell Fuller talks about Jarvis Williams and Matthew Hall's critical theory laced teachings and the effect they have had on some students. He also recounts the story of Dr. Albert Mohler's aggressive support, in a faculty meeting, for Matthew Hall's promotion to the position of provost, despite opposition over critical theory. Fuller also reveals the stipulations of the "separation agreement" and challenges any members of the faculty at Southern Seminary to debate him on the merits of his concerns.

"All they can do is go after me personally because they cannot go after the substance." Dr. Fuller

And that is what we are seeing in this thread as well as what Dr. Mohler did to Dr. Fuller
