One good thing about the virus, most people recover unlike other past pandemics. Imagine if you would how would this country deal with a modern version of plaque killing maybe 150 or 200 million Americans? , seeing how this minor pandemic has stopped life here.

For a few years yes devastating, but society would pick up again, just like it did in Europe. Justinian's plague was just as bad as the black death. I read that the survivors of the black deaths were selected by their genes, they had a resistance the others lacked, which is one reason those massive plagues did not return and they became less virulent. Similar plagues struck native americans killing many of them but the Europeans who exposed them to those diseases were mostly immune.

I was thinking the same thing. It's like when we take antibiotics but stop when we start feeling better and the infection comes back twice as bad.

Too bad that we don't have N95 masks for everyone. I imagine that we will have masks for everyone in abundance long before fall. We could continue normally with N95 masks.

Secondly, I find myself wondering if some of those patients could have been saved if the FDA had not had to have been prodded by the French?
