Yeah, I would like to know another website to link to.. I would like to link this sermon to my blog and encourage others to listen to it....

Wow, God has done it again...something that was meant for evil, (the OP), God is using for good... (listen to the sermon to edify the body of Christ)

    God is good!

That message softened my opinion of Pastor Schaap dramatically. It was such a blessing.

Amen - God is good and He is bigger then men.

I want to thank Pastor Sanderson for linking us to this amazing message!

Yeah, anything is possible with God.
If you told me this morning when I rolled out of bed, that I would be defending Schaap, and enjoy doing it, I would have said you have beans for brains... But God had other plans...

And what is amazing is, what he preached is not too far from some points I have in my sermon this Sunday...

Who knows, I may be defending a sermon from Sanderson one of these days... and enjoying it... anything is possible.

The clips take the sermon out of context. When you feel you need to take something out of context to prove your point, then you can be sure, your point is incorrect.
No where did he make a joke of sin, or treat it as if it were a joke, he was very serious about sin.
His main message was forgiveness(letting go for your sake, not theirs). Forgiving those who have hurt you in the past, who are effecting your life right now because of the unforgiveness. which he says, from experience with them, is why homosexuals are homosexual, and pedophiles hurt children. They've been hurt, and never were healed by forgiveness. He was no where sympathetic of peadiphiles over their victims. But for their pain as a child.
Next, his message was, no one is excluded from salavation because of their lifestyle.
He said be gentle with people even if you disagree with them, you could take a lesson here sanderson.
About the pope, he said he (the pope)was a sincere man, and that the teenagers gathered att he vatican for mourning and his funeral call the pope a godly man. Your statement is misleading.
You have so misrepresented this man thats it's an outright lie.

I want to add, I have no idea who this Schaap guy is, never heard of him before. So it's not like I'm sticking up for someone I like or hve previously approved of.

quote from sandersons page on Schaap,
    What he said was,
abortion not the only issue when it comes to how we votes, never vote on one person becasue one issue.
Abortion will probably never effect him, meanng personally, becasue they didn't abort their children, and he was aborted, means he has not and doesn't expect abortion to come into contact with him personally. Abortion is an injustice. Once you've had an abortion, theres nothing you can do about it, but go on with life and not do it again.
    Everythng out of context.

    brother Tiny,

    try http://www.baptist-city.com/

it's the unofficial website for FBC Hammond, they routinely post Brother Schaap's sermons, and I figure you should be able to find any sermon of his you'd like to listen to.

I have to say, this has been the most amazing thread to me....in a good way, of course! :godisgood:

Don't you love it when, as someone mentioned earlier, what was meant for evil results in good.

I just couldn't get any kind of peace about closing this thread, now it appears that God wanted to teach a lesson on how He can work in a negative situation.

    Ain't He amazin'?

I have not been a big fan of Hyles, FBC Hammond, Schaap.....

However, I listened to that 14 min clip and I found nothing wrong with it at all. It is sad to see people twist the words of people.

It is you who needs to listen to it again. And the question I have for you is "Who do you think you are fooling?" I wonder what the real beef is that you have with this man. Maybe you should adress that.

The following takes place between approximately the 9 minute and 11 minute marks of the sermon...

Would Jack Hyles have considered the pope to be a "godly man" or someone leading people to idolatry?
What would the prince of preachers say about the pope?

When that pope died an agent of the devil passed away. That pope and most of the popes who have served in that office before him have, gone to the place prepared for the devil and his angels. For Schaap to not point out that the popes are antichrist, to say that the pope was a godly man and to be his apologist, is just another indicator of the apostasy of our time.

I am amazed at an inability to read the context. It is obvious that he is referring to how young Catholics felt about the pope, not his own personal feelings.

No wonder the world is going to hell - we spend so much time picking each others words apart that we ignore those perishing around us.

Schaap said that the teenagers were looking to a man of god as they called him. Schaap did not say that he thought the pope was a "godly man", but that the Catholic teenagers think that he was.

Reading what Schaap actually says, and not reading your preconceived notions into them, would be a great idea.
