Does anyone remember this great evangelist? He graduated from BBC Springfield, MO and pastored many years as well a preaching revivals across the country. He was my mentor and I served under his ministry for four years before going into full time ministry 34 years ago. He has since went on to Glory.

Yes I remember him the first time I met him was at Stonington Baptist Church in Stonington Illinois. I was a kid and in serious trouble. He told me he went from dope to hope! I had one of his albums that I won for bringing so many people to church.I loved him so much and have never forgotten him or the impact he made on my life!! He was amazing!!!

I never met him but read about him and was very, very impressed by what God can do. Is there any place I can get stories about him or messages that he preached?

I do remember him well. Heard him preach many times and went to his church a couple of times. I am looking for his recorded songs if any one knows where they can be purchased.

Pastor Sam,
It’s ironic that you ask about Brother Jim. For, he has been on my mind, on a regular basis, for many, many years now.
I will try to answer, and add more to my reply, a little later.

Yes... I remember him....He came to my "Home' Church when I was a teenager back in the 1970's....He told of his "Life Testimony" and preached "From Dope - To Hope"...I absolutely loved his singing and miss his voice so much....I had several of his Cassettes of his songs but those burnt in a house fire...I would love to have those again...His Cassettes were a "Huge Blessing" in my life....

Hello. I have a signed copy of an album by Dr. Delashmidt from the 1970s when he came to LincolnLand Baptist Church in Springfield, IL. I am willing to part with it if anyone is interested. It is in excellent condition, no scratches.

I do! He came to my home church several times in Batavia, OH. I remember sitting in the front pew when I was just a young girl, somewhat terrified by the way his stentorian voice penetrated right through me but then in the same sentence would speak gently with an outpouring of love (and rosy cheeks )
I remember him being in the crowd when I was baptized on March 17, 1997, and giving a hearty Amen as I rose in the likeness of Jesus Christ my Saviour.
He was a good man, and his powerful testimony impacted so many..myself included.
I'm certain that he is rejoicing now with our Heavenly Father! ❤ Thank you Jesus

I remember Brother Jim well, I was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Posen, Illinois where he was my pastor until I left the Chicago area in1984. I have have lost my faith. I believe God put brother Jim's testimony that I had heard the first time when I was just12 years old at Faith when Brother Tom Schulte was the pastor and Bro Jim was preaching a revival. I need to hear that message more than anything right now so if anyone knows where I can get the copy of "dope to hope I would greatly appreciate the information, thank you.en
I heard him preach at our church (SBC) in Illinois when I was a teenager. I remember his remarkable testimony. In fact, I probably have it still on a cassette somewhere.

I guess nobody on here remembers him. That is sad because he made a big impact on many lives. He has a large number of preacher boys who surrendered under his ministry.

I felt honored to be able to work under his ministry. I learned a great deal and his example to me helped me to have two very successful ministries.

Has anyone at least heard of him?
I
I just listened to his sermon "From DopeI rememb

YES YES YES...We met Jim Delashmit in 1987. My husband is a Pastor and Bro.Jim and his wife Karen (still living) came to our church's revival meeting. At the time I was single and came to the revival as the guest piano player. When Bro. Jim saw I had no ring on my hand, he prompted my husband to look into this single lady. :) Thirty three years later, we're still married. We called Bro.Jim our "match maker" . I have almost all of his CD's and alot of preaching tapes. Just listening to his singing voice brings me to tears of joy. I can still hear his "giggle" while he preached and sang. We send Karen our church's newsletters and a birthday card each year. The Lord surely has blessed MANY folks thru preaching of God's Word (kjv) and ministry of singing. He is missed. Carol and Pastor Andy and Bible Baptist

I emailed you sir. I remember his voice as a very small child at Faith Baptist Church in Posen, IL. Anyone with any recording of his preaching or singing please allow me to purchase copies from you. My dad was saved under his preaching. God bless you all.

I remember him. When I was a student at HAC in the early 80's, he preached in chapel. I still remember the sermon - THE DEVIL IS WORKING OVERTIME ALL THE TIME. He was a powerful preacher. Wonderful testimony. Pastor Don Kiper, Bible Baptist Church Niagara Falls, Canada

I know this was posted years ago but I felt moved to reply. I had the joy of meeting him and hearing his story as a child, along with several sermons. He came to the church I went to growing up, Grace Baptist Church in Bowling Green Kentucky. I actually think of him often. I adored him.
