That might fix some problems, but I am not for universal government healthcare in any form.Draft
I am afraid there would be far more ineligible to serve due to physical or mental issues. If you drop out of HS, you would be drafted immediately. Right after your Boot and AIT, you would be in an intensive program for 30 days to get your GED.Some three million are born every year -
for the sake of argument 2 million are physically/mentally fit to serve.
for just the us Army that would be (for 2 years) 4 million people.
with about 10,000 per division that would be 400 divisions.
Granted some would be for support units, the Navy, Air Force, ect
But there is no way the US could support that many people in the military.
Even during WW II, with a population of 130 million people only 16 million people served = 12% of the population
and not counting females = about 24% of the male population. Thus it is NOT reasonable to draft all - even just males into the US military.00
In case you are wondering - about 350,000 women served in WW2 = about 1/2 of 1% of women
Now, if we were to draft illegal aliens into the military.......
Not necessarily. Voluntary recruitment results in a military composed of people who chose and wanted to be in the military.
