I never said it did or didn't rain before the flood, the Bible isn't clear on that subject. It only says that that it hadn't rained by the 7th day.

So sunlight didn't condense water into clouds? What fundamental change in the laws of energy and matter occurred? Life perishes without rain, rain is a natural outcome of sunlight and water. YARA . . . Yet Another Ridiculous Assertion. Whatever school you graduated from should be decertified!

Why do you use a computer? The Bible has no instance where the early church members used them. Must be a sin.

Oh for goodness sake! You've really utterly destroyed your last shred of credibility with that one! I think it's very safe to assume that everything else you've posted here has been some kind of joke too; well done! If you really did want to convince me that drinking was sinful the you've achieved the exact opposite with your ludicrous assertions.

Who are you trying to kid, Matt? You had your mind made up concerning alcohol before my very first post on the subject. Regardless if I had posted or not, your view on alcohol in the life of a believer is still contrary to God's Word on alcohol in the life of a believer.

Your posts on this subject have driven some people to drinking.

I know I'm a bit slow, at times, but what does 'rain' In Genesis, have specifically to do with alcohol??

My late husband listened to statements just like yours--"Drinking in moderation is okay, but drunkenness is sin". He's dead now--he drank himself to death. He was deceived--not by drunkenness, but by what people told him about drinking. Everybody starts out by simple imbibing--that's the deception. I'm sorry you don't agree--I'm sorry that you need to have "Thou shalt not drink" in black and white letters--when all the warnings against simple imbibing are in the Bible. One doesn't run the risk of getting drunk if they never drink--so why take the risk? After the person is drunk, they have already been deceived.

How many people will have to die because of drinking because they listened to "a little won't hurt". Go ahead and walk on thin ice (simple imbibing) yourself, but be careful about sending others out there with you.

One doesn't run the risk of getting obese if he never eats, either.

It's truly sad when others lay stumbling blocks before their brothers and sisters in Christ. :(

The wine of His wrath will be poured out on self-righteous know-it-alls, yes. All who are clothed in their own righteousness will experience that outpouring of the wine of God's wrath.

But I cetainly won't have to worry about that. I am clothed in Christ's righteousness.

As to alcoholic wine, there is not one single verse that says saints will drink alcoholic wine in the Kingdom of God.

Matter of fact, Christ told the eleven Disciples that He would drink a 'new' fruit of the vine with them in the Kingdom. New means it has not aged at all. It is pure and untainted by anything that defiles.

After 32 pages (and almost a 6 mo. hiatus), isn't it about time to lay this thread to a permanent rest?

The Poll is long since closed; the thread should follow!

    How about it, Moderators?!

It's a shame people disagree with a Biblical stance so they call foul.

Yeah, then they call for the thread to be closed.

    Alcohol is a sin period.

Rom 14:14 I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean in itself; still, it is unclean to the one who considers it unclean.
Rom 14:15 For if your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy by your food someone for whom Christ died.
Rom 14:16 Therefore do not let what you consider good be spoken of as evil.
Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God does not consist of food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Rom 14:18 For the one who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by people.
Rom 14:19 So then, let us pursue what makes for peace and for building up one another.
Rom 14:20 Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. For although all things are clean, it is wrong to cause anyone to stumble by what you eat.
Rom 14:21 It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything that causes your brother to stumble.
Rom 14:22 The faith you have, keep to yourself before God. Blessed is the one who does not judge himself by what he approves.
Rom 14:23 But the man who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not do so from faith, and whatever is not from faith is sin.

So if I drink wine and cause my brother who is weaker to stumble in his faith because to him drinking wine is a sin, that is not love.

This is my thread, a vitrolic thread full of attacks against my fellow brothers and sisters including snide remarks, prideful words, name calling etc.. which has now been dug up 6 months later.

To my brothers and sisters, as a favor to me, please do not feed the troll.

    Thank you
