Thanks. I reread it. I think it is pretty clear. He said pleasure was vanity as if it being vanity means we should not do it.
He was saying that the fact that alcohol is pleasurable and pleasure is vanity means that drinking alcohol for pleasurable purposes is no justification.
I think that is utterly ridiculous.
Solomon said that hard work and devotion to learning are vanity. They are encouraged nonetheless in holy writ. So what if pleasure is vain?
Pleasure is plenty justification for drinking alcohol moderately. And it always will be until someone produces Bible which says otherwise.
Now I know why his posts are unintelligible . . . he can't read.
When you discuss alcohol as a pleasure, do you neglect to discuss how it is a pleasure? Like this: It is a mood altering substance, it makes the edge come off of "life" - that sort of thing?

Because alcohol and people who promote it deceive one into drinking it.
Because God tells us to bring wine to the temple and to enjoy it in His presence.

Garbage. I haven't deceived anyone into drinking it. I posted the 247 times Scripture uses it. Your problem is with God.

Funny, I searched for "Because God tells us to bring wine to the temple and to enjoy it in His presence." in the Bible and could not find it anywhere. Please tell me which verse that is. Is that found in 1st Webdog? or 2nd annsni?

Deuteronomy 14:22-26 was concerning the tithes which were only from Israelites.
You are taking those verses out of context to justify something that God frowns on.
God not only doesn't frown on it, He tells them to enjoy it in His presence. He also doesn't frown on it because He requires it for offerings to Him.

Deuteronomy 14 was addressed to the Israelites, not to the Gentiles.
You are not rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
So God has a double standard? It's OK for the Israelites to drink yet it's not OK for Gentiles to drink?? Where else does God have a double standard?
How about I Tim 3:12 - Likewise the deacons... not ...given to much wine...
