Why would a Baptist church invite a CoC to a Q&A service is beyond me.
maybe to see how fellow brothers in the Lord relate to each other?
Like i said, chance to see what their stand really is about water baptism and what really saves a sinner!

That is really sad, as our City here should be doing MUCH better than it has, as we have more churches per block than any other large city in USA!
Just shows what happens when the Church buys into the liberal social agenda/economics, and neglects word of God!

I told some of my friends that the duck dynasty boys were church of Christ members and the CoC believe they are the only true church anyone can be saved in. They refused to believe it. Sooner or later the truth will come out
This used to be just about universally true but my experience is not all CoC believe this anymore. Some do but some who I know and have spoken with do not believe this anymore. They are very congregational in church polity, so there will be differences between one congregation and another at least on some issues. Some take communion each Sunday, others monthly. Most are acapella but some allow music sound tracks and a few....gasp.... are introducing instrumental music.
Some of the more old schools ones I know are very concerned about us Baptist because while the form of our baptism is correct, the fact that we don't believe the act is salvific makes them wonder if we our baptism counts. I made the point that we baptize in obedience to the Lord’s command, and that even for a CoC surely they don't think one must trust that being dunked is what saves you....they just weren't sure.
All that said, I don’t know what the Robertson sons believe concerning the CoC being the only true Church, but I have heard Phil talking about "preaching baptism" on the show.
Okay, had to look up what Duck Dynasty is. What does that have to do with church? Are they related to Pat Robertson or something?
And how do you make a whole television series out of a family who makes duck call thingies out of wood? Wouldn't that be, like, one show? They make a whistle thing, it's over? LOL "See, here's what we do..."

Agreed Ed. Most COC people I know are more old school and hold the belief I described....including my own dad. He thinks I'm lost because I'm a General Baptist. He says the Baptist Church isn't in the bible and not the true Church and it is man made church. I always remind him that the COC he refers too was founded by a MAN named Alexander Cambell and that the true name of the CoC should be the " cambellite" church. That usually stifles the conversation.
Anyway I would be open to agreeing that some CoC may be moving away from this belief. I hope they do. Nobody will ever agree 100 percent but to be isolationist from other Jesus Christ believers surely doesn't produce good fruit. I think they worry more about what the name on the building is instead of the fruit it bears.

It's like you're speaking a foreign language! No, it makes no sense at all. I don't know what a Kenworth is. Or a MACK. There are MACK trucks? MAC books, but I don't think they have a K and they're computer things.
I'm starting to get suspicious. Is this a...Southern thing? Hmmm? Do I need to take my iced caramel frappe sipping, appalled at drawled grammatical phrasings like "y'all" when speaking to one person, "is that a speck of DIRT on my car?!" shocked face back to my little corner of the world in shame at not knowing these things?

Basically, its following the activities of a self proclaimed family of "red necks", whose goal in life appears tobe to talk about Jesus, live for Him, and record a TV show, in between working the company, and making speaking gigs at churches!

why the generate a lot of heat is that they are Church of Christ, and many here assume that they hold to their church teaching that one MUST be water baptized in order to be really saved... Don't know if they hold to thatexactly though!
