Sorry, I don't burn sources, as a journalist it is consider unethical to do so.

Having said that, I do have a well-placed source in the company that did tell me in the affirmative that the CEO is not too big on blacks and doing business in their communities. Such as Detroit.

...and no, I am not lying about it.

Thanks,

-FundyPat

Funniest thing I've heard about this so far... you're a journalist!

I think you're less of a fundamentalist and more of a funny-mentalist.

Even if this is true, it's not racist for them not to have a business in Detroit. Shoot, all the major grocery store chains left Detroit a long time ago due to all the criminal behavior/stealing, etc. It's not a wise move to put your place of business in an area well-known for thugs and crime.

A Martinsburg, WV Chick-Fil-A had a bomb threat against the restaurant and police had to check it out. They didn't find anything and are on the trail of the prankster.

But Chick-Fil-A does not want to open stores were black people are, most likely because the owner is a racist. He's from the south and southern Baptist; so that explains much. They could make money in Detroit, especially on the east side, where most blacks live. But, when you're a racist.....

....... jack ass ignorance. Either that or you are a troll. You tell us.

Who cares who your "sources" are if you can't tell the truth and if your "journalism" is very YELLOW.

There are customers everywhere.

The truth is the truth --- and the truth is that Chick-Fil-A is a racist owned company.

Uhh... have you been to Detroit lately?

The population is about 1/3 of what it was in the past.

No people means no customers.

Racist? They're out here in various neighborhoods. The HIGHEST percentage of whites in the majority of places around here is 62% and some go as low as 16%, which would be around what Detroit is.

They don't appear to discriminate over race in who they hire from what I've seen.

Racism is a strong accusation to make without proof. You can't just go around making up vicious lies. Well you can, obviously, but it's really wrong to do so.

More to the point, Detroit oer the last decade has had a shrinking economy. Fair Warning with the accusations being bandied about, I'll close this thread with out further notice if they continue.

Mr. Cathy is the board of the United Negro College Fund's Morehouse College:
http://www.morehouse.edu/about/trustees.html

On the Cathy Family website, they proudly feature Gabourey Sidibe (aka "Precious") touting their food at the Oscars: "Chick Fil A, I'm gonna hit that HARD tomorrow!":
http://www.cathyfamily.com/resource...a-shout-out-to-chick-fil-a-at-the-oscars.aspx

Also on the Cathy Family website is a video of Mr. Cathy's brother "Bubba" conversing with Baptist Pastor Bernice King: "Jesus said He's the Way, the Life, and the Truth; and I appreciate you, and you proclaiming that. Now you like Chick Fil A, don't you, Bernice?":
http://www.cathyfamily.com/resources/videos/bubba-and-bernice.aspx

BTW, Mr. Cathy's own Baptist church has several women ministers and Mr. Cathy is on the board of the Carter Center (Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter's human rights organization).

Does that sound like a bigot to y'all?

Squire - only one accusation was made. Everyone else has refuted it. If I may suggest, please consider "closing" the poster, not the thread.

I cannot believe what I just read on this thread, too much to edit out. So, since it is on page 3, I'm closing it.
