Sounds pretty typical to me. To allow the likes of Carter and Clinton to be spokespersons for the moderate movement is not going to heal anything between conservative and moderate Baptists. To me it has only demonstrated why I can have nothing to do with the CBF and other moderate Baptists.

I've been trying to say this in the news forum, that there can't be unity with the likes of this. Of course I'm the bad guy for refusing to unify with a person like this and the group he stands with.

They can call themsleves moderates if they want to so as to down play the excessiveness of their position. But in the end it will only do for moderate what it has done for liberal.

Yup! I totally agree with you.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

Basically, this is, IMNSHO, exactly what our esteemed(?) former POTUSes are doing with all this "unity" palaver!

Color me "extremely skeptical" of ANY noble motives by this crew!!

The extreme fundamentalists of the SBC decided a long time ago they did not want unity when they seized control of the convention. I'm afraid you have things reversed. The moderates were forced to leave by the heavy handed tactics of the far right.
