Hmmm, Van has made a dozen posts in this thread of his. But so far he has not provided any evidence to support his OP : Eliminating Vague, Arcane And Obscure Words. Strange that.

Vague - stated in indefinite terms - not having a precise meaning, ambiguous

1) Atonement
2) Propitiation
3) Predestination

Arcane - mysterious, not well understood, abstruse

1) Sanctification - meanings not understood
2) Called - meanings not understood
3) Hell - meanings not understood

Obscure - partially hidden, murky, equivocal

1) Hebrew and Greek words or phrase meanings translated into multiple English words or phrases
2) Redemption - spiritual or physical
3) Righteousness - self declared or provided by God

Does "hastening the day of God" mean just earnestly and prayerfully desiring Christ's return, or does it mean by our effective witnessing, we contribute to shortening the time until His return by reaching the number of His people sooner? The word either means desiring or actually shortening the time. Translations should not sit on the fence and foster factions within the body of Christ.
