Apparently, some folks are receiving emails that tell them it's time to upgrade to Windows 10; click on this link.
HOWEVER, when you do so, the link installs ransomware (a program that encrypts your files) and tells you to contact someone to pay to have your files released. So far, the tech sites I watch indicate they haven't found a way to release the files other than paying the scammers for the release code.
You should NOT receive an email for your Windows 10 upgrade; it should appear as a notice on your desktop. If you receive such an email, DO NOT click on the link.
