I have attempted to explain my objection to "eternal generation" to, what seem like, to no avail.

Now, I believe the Son of God has always been the Son and has always been "co-equal" with God the Father being God. It is this "c.o-equal" concept that in my mind disallows "eternal generation." Since the term cannot applied co-equally with God.

No. I understand your objections but at the same time it comes from a misunderstanding on your part.

You do, in fact, believe Eternal Generation as evidenced by your own posts.

You do not, however, understand Eternal Generation because the Son being co-equal to the Father (and Spirit) IS an important part of Eternal Generation.

Eternal Generation IS the doctrine that the Father and Son are ETERNALLY co-equal, ETERNALLY YHWH, and at the SAME TIME ETERNALLY distinct Persons of the One Triune God.

That is why our "debate" has continued for so long.

You mistepresent what Eternal Generation means in order to reject it (either intentionally or through ignorance).

I believe it is through ignorance, and understandably so. Were "Eternal Generation" a modern term it couldn't go together.

But until you can PROVE BY SCRIPTURE that the Father and Son are NOT ETERNAL AND NOT CO-EQUAL then you will continue to be unable to disprove the orthodox Chriatian faith.

    Your belief is utter nonsense.

The Son IS eternal. He is NOT a created being but God made flesh.

And even though you deny it, you know you cannot disprove it by Scripture.

    Thread closed.

The discussion is approaching a line.

Please feel free to discuss how doctrines could be reworded to better communicate its meaning today.

But maintaining a long established standard on this board, debating the validity of the Doctrine of the Trinity is not allowed.
