ETIQUETTE OF THE CHURCH
What women should wear in the church?
1Corinthians 11.7-10
7.For a man ought not to have his head veiled, since he is the image and reflection of GOD, but woman is the reflection of man. (Genesis 1.26-27, 2.7)
8.Indeed man was not made from woman, but woman from man.
9.Neither was man created for the sake of woman, but woman for the sake of man. (Genesis 2.20-25)
10.For this reason a woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.
Can women speak in the church?
1Corinthians 14.33-35
33.GOD is not a GOD of confusion but of peace, as (it should be) in all the churches of the saints.
34.Let the women keep silent in the churches, they are not permitted to speak, but let them subject themselves, just as the Law also says.
35.And if they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home, it is improper for a woman to speak in church.
This portion of Paul's teaching forbidding women to speak in the church probably relates only to the church of Corinth, because no any other message of Paul like this one was sent to any other church he ever visited, except perhaps to the church of Ephesus, to Timothy (1Timothy 2.12). But generally speaking, Paul actually forbidding women to speak in all the churches as indicated in verse 34. Under the word "speak" Paul perhaps meant asking questions and teaching, which can be very interfering and destructive during the service in the church.
The reason why such statement was issued by Paul is because some women perhaps spoke some inappropriate things or some nonsense in the church, or tried to lead the church, or expressed their disagreement with something. So when Paul heard it, he issues this directive concerning such problem.
Can women teach in the church? Well, if Paul forbid women to speak in the church, how then he would allow them to teach in the church?
1Timothy 2.9-15
9.Like wise I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modesty, and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold, or pearls, or costly garments,
10.but rather by means of good works, as befits women making a claim to godliness.
11.Let a woman quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness.
12.But I do not allow a woman to teach, or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.
This statement of Paul is written to Timothy who was at the time in the church of Ephesus. Again, it may had been issued to the church of Ephesus for the same reason as in the church in Corinth were women spoke inappropriate things.
I remember in one church some women were so upset by this statement of Paul that one of them said, "Paul may be was a little bit drunk when he wrote this words." I know this woman personally, she was the wife of the pastor, and she was very good woman, GOD bless her, but I did not expected from her to have such disrespect for Paul because of his statement.
13.It was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.
14.And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being quite deceived fell into transgression.
15.But women shall be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctify with self-restrain.
By looking on this issue there women are not allowed to speak and teach in the church from another point of view, it will be also noticeable that quite number of women had been prophetess like in OT and also in NT, and if they prophesied, this means they are also spoke and teach, because almost all prophets teach people the word of GOD and His will.
Can Christian married non Christian?
1Corinthians 7.12-15.39
12.To the rest I say I and not the Lord, that if any believers has a wife who is an unbeliever and she consents to live with him (with believer), he (believer) should not divorce her.
13.And if any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever and he consents to live with her, she (believer) should not divorce him.
14.The unbelieving husband is made holy through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy through her husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.
15.But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so, in such a case the brother or sister is not bound. It is to peace that GOD has called you.
39.A wife is bound as long as her husband lives (Malachi 2.13-16). But if the husband dies she is free to marry anyone she wishes, only in the Lord.
Many argued against this statement and displeased with this rule. And it seems that the conflict of interests here is quite very sharp. I knew some people who separated because of different believes, and I also knew some people who live in peace and tranquility with one another despite being of different backgrounds, faiths, and believes.
I think that Paul made very wise statement concerning two different people living together, but the worse thing that can happen is when unbeliever pulls his spouse out of believers in Christ, this would be the worst scenario in such marital union.
