Yes. And with your word search suggestion I found the documents instantly. Thanks.
I disagree with your assessment in two areas. One, and you guys have to work it out yourselves, that document goes directly against the writings at Trent which say "anyone", not just the original Reformers, who do not believe the Eucharist is propitiatory, and that transubstantiation is true - then let them be accursed. I did find the later 1964 writings kind and somewhat conciliatory and if you are willing to say that they refute the pronouncements of Trent then I will accept that on your word. If you know of other documents that would support the Catholic church reversing Trent and admitting it was wrong then point me to them.
The other area relates to the first in that the parishioner level teaching at some of the local Catholic churches seems to change or shall I say be explained in the mildest possible way. My cousin, who drifts a lot and after a period non attendance at any church told me she was going to a Catholic church. She was expecting me to object forcefully, and after realizing I was not doing so, began to explain how open minded the priest was on transubstantiation and such. What I am saying by that is that apparently, in her mind at least, she is now a Catholic worshipper who is not convinced on transubstantiation, does not think she is personally worshipping Christ in a wafer on a pole, and does not feel that I am in any jeopardy for not doing like her. In that case I don't in any way think she is committing a damnable heresy by going to Mass, nor are the laymen around her. And in any case, like you were instructed in Vatican II, I also welcome the chance for dialogue regarding any questions she might have, as that is what we are supposed to do too. I always talk to the Mormons and JW's when they stop by too.
Proselytizing is just trying to get someone to convert to your faith. You were instructed to do that in the Vatican II document in very explicit terms. And that's fine. I was just referring to the Baptistboard forum rules for "Other Christian Denominations" which explicitly prohibit that on this board. I don't mind as I find your arguments well done and enjoy dialog with you but it just surprised me that it was allowed and that this thread was not shut down prematurely.
I do hope you get to feeling better.
