I miss the old days, when Republicans stood for repealing Obamacare. Republicans across the country and every member of my caucus campaigned on repeal – often declaring they would tear out Obamacare “root and branch!”

What happened?

Now too many Republicans are falling all over themselves to stuff hundreds of billions of taxpayers’ dollars into a bill that doesn’t repeal Obamacare and feeds Big Insurance a huge bailout.

Seriously, it ought to be Trump saying this, where are his tweets? I'll never forget Trump's advocacy of single-payer and his later comments on "covering everybody". That showed me he had no grasp on the complexity of this issue.

Anyways, the GOP Senate promised to repeal and sometimes replace Obamacare, the policy is slowly dying anyways and calling a non-repeal bill a repeal bill will not wash. Just do a repeal only, this disaster so far only cements the belief that the Democrats are the party of big government, the GOP is the party of big insurance. I won't miss my mandated catastrophic expensive healthcare plan.

Now, the Senate GOP plan being put forward is chock full of insurance bailout money – to the tune of nearly $200 billion. Republicans, present company excluded, now support the idea of lowering your insurance premium by giving a subsidy to the insurance company.

Yep. Cost Reduction Subsidies. GOP is going to pay them retroactively and pay them going forward.

Remarkable. If the GOP now supports an insurance stabilization fund to lower insurance prices, maybe they now support a New Car stabilization fund to lower the price of cars. Or maybe the GOP would support an iPhone stabilization fund to lower the price of phones.

The possibilities are limitless once you accept that the federal government should subsidize prices. I remember when Republicans favored the free choice of the marketplace.

Keeping Obamacare means scoring political points with all the Independents,
the media (they most certainly don't want to be portrayed in a bad light now)
and to pacify the scores of protesters outside. They're so obsessed with their
image they're willing to sacrifice the rest of us.

I'm of the opinion they never stood for repealing Obamacare once it was in place. It made very good talking points as long as they were in no position to repeal it, but the proof is in the pudding now -- Republican House, Republican Senate and Republican President and not enough guts to get the job done.

It's beginning to look that way, but I am willing to give them more time.

IMO all the Democrats and many establishment, RINO and NeoCon Republicans have colluded together to topple President Trump.

The are both either blocking or filibustering any bill brought forth to that end.

More time will clearly show that fact to the American people and they (Dump Trumpers) hopefully will quit trying and do something positive or get booted.
IMO It's not about Repeal/Replace Obamacare but Dump Trump.

Not sure how well Trump understands the magnitude of the issue now but he is calling for a repeal-only bill and the GOP better jump on board.

They promised to repeal it and now they have a POTUS that will just about sign anything put in front of him yet they won't pull the trigger on this thing.
