Faith is the issue here, what is its source???

truth is not within us, nor was it found manifested in the Law. Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. The Law is truth, but the ability to live up to that standard is not within man, if so, some would have been able to have been perfected under that covenant. Only Christ performed this, only Christ can quicken anyone, or quicken the truth in anyone.

Primitive Baptists,

Apparently, the Word of God preached is the substance that brings a sinner to a place of repentance and belief in Jesus and what He has done for the lost. I point to Romans 10:13-15. Without Jesus words and truth spoken to us no sinner would have any criterion on which to trust in His saving atonement. When trust takes place, regeneration takes place in the lost person.

 

Brethren,

The Biblical position is that election is based on God's foreknowledge {prognosis} [Romans 8:29 & I Peter 1:2] and this is confirmed in Romans 10:9 which introduces a conditional participle. The word, ' . . . if' suggests an indefiniteness and or uncertainty within the sentence. God is not speaking about the alleged fact that He is selecting human beings for Hell and Heaven at His own choosing, but rather suggests that it is His will that everyone should be saved. [I Timothy 2:4] In fact, God speaking through the great Apostle Paul intimates that being saved is a matter of the human heart {the free will} and a matter of publicly declaring Christ before the world system. The verse most strongly suggests that being saved by God is absolutely conditioned on the human agent. 'That IF thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.' No one has to be a rocket scientist to understand that some will turn from the genuine offer of everlasting life, while others will decide in their hearts to receive Christ into their lives.

While we give 110% gratitude for God regenerating the human soul, free and apart from the human agency, yet we understand this regeneration is contingent on whether a person bows to Christ or continues in rebellion against our Lord Jesus.

Again, the word IF (ean; ehan) totally places the matter of final salvation in human hands. 'IF you confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus, and will believe in YOUR HEART that God has raised Christ from the dead, you will be saved.

This is an unconditional and open call to all sinners to one day enter Heaven, but this all is conditioned on human response and evaluation of so great salvation.
