Fauci calls this a false narrative that the covid virus is losing potency

Italian Study Shows Lower 'Viral Load,' Milder Symptoms In COVID-19 Patients

Viral loads are dropping, from April to May and now in Italy the virus no longer exists.

The new study follows another in which researchers found that the coronavirus that swept the world was losing its “potency,” according to a top Italian doctor.

“In reality, the virus clinically no longer exists in Italy,” Alberto Zangrillo, the head of the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, said last month, according to Reuters. “The swabs that were performed over the last 10 days showed a viral load in quantitative terms that was absolutely infinitesimal compared to the ones carried out a month or two months ago,” he told RAI television.

It is why hospitalizations for Covid -19 are DOWN.
But you wont hear that on the MSM fake news organizations.
Fauci wrong again. But the LEFT loves the guy, he is one of their Anti-Trump weapons.

If one reads the actual article, not just the linked recap, it is much more nuanced and not as definitive as the link makes it out to be.

Quoted word for word.

You want to keep the narrative going that only a vaccine can save us from covid? That is what Fauci says.

According to Fauci, any report that contradicts him is false. His influence and power require the fear stay properly ginned up.

Why does anyone listen to this liar anymore?

Yes, well, not surprising considering the source.

From the TGP article:

"The researchers said the lower “viral load” could mean that the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes COVID-19, is getting weaker. But the researchers also noted that it is unclear what is causing the lower viral load."

I'm guess, though, an apology to TGP is not forthcoming. :Rolleyes

Corona viruses mutate, that is a known fact. I have read it is mutating to less deadly form so as to survive. If that makes any sense. Corona viruses that cause colds mutate to the point you lose immunity from year to year, and can still get the cold. So it makes some sense that this will become like another cold virus. AND since many peope have now been exposed, they have some immune memory that can deal with a future infection, even though it is not exactly identical, being similar is helpful to creating working antibodies.

Nice Rush Limbaugh tactic there--I need to apologize for something which implies I said something wrong.

Here is a clip from the full article in the Daily Mail:

Clementi's study, published on Monday in the journal Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, did not look for mutations in the virus or changes in patients that might explain why the illness seemed less severe overall in the May patients.

Without that information, it is not possible to say whether the virus is changing in ways that give humans a fighting chance against the virus, or if - through testing, social distancing and mask-wearing - we are simply better at fighting it.

Another factor that could influence the results is WHEN the test swab is conducted. If it's conducted early in the infection stage, say a couple of days, the viral load will be lower than if it were taken, say, a week into the sickness.

Bottom line is that you can't compare 200 test swabs from two different months without proper control conditions to make any conclusions. Also, it's irresponsible to quote one doctor that says "the virus is clinically not present in Italy" and make that the main takeaway from the study. Further, this same doctor says the viral numbers are "infinitesimal compared to the ones carried out a month or two months ago", and then not give out the actual numbers.

When I read that original TPG article, I got the impression the research was inconclusive and the researchers noncommittal. It appears they can't win with you. I think on this one you need to apologize. Don't pull a Bubba.

I should apologize because the TGP put out a story that says on the one hand "the virus is not clinically present in Italy" and on the other hand says, "research is inconclusive?"

The TGP should apologize to the world for claiming it is a news organization.

You're pulling a Bubba.

They told the truth. The study suggests the virus might be weakening, but there are other possibilities.

Well, which is it? The virus is weakening? Or the virus no longer exists in Italy?

The article says: Italian Study Shows Lower 'Viral Load,' Milder Symptoms In COVID-19 Patients. In the article is says the evidence is still anecdotal.

I have no idea what you're nitpicking at. It's obvious you'll never give any credit to TGP. You mentioned the same about Breitbart a while back, accusing them of some kind of nonsense you knew of personally.

I'm curious what outlets you do trust.

Do you know how to read? I'm serious when I ask. It does not say the evidence for lower numbers of the viral load was anecdotal. It says the lower numbers were measured in a study of 200 people.

The article says several things.

1. Based on a small study, the viral loads in patients tested in May was lower than the viral load in patients measured in April.

2. The anecdotal evidence was that patients "don't seem as sick."

3. “In reality, the virus clinically no longer exists in Italy,” Alberto Zangrillo, the head of the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, said last month.

4. It mentions another study (but does not quote it or link to it) that says the coronavirus was losing its potency.

Just say you are sorry for prolonging this thread and apologize for defending TGP.

....It does not say the evidence for lower numbers of the viral load was anecdotal. ....

Can you get past your derangement over this news site to infer basic ideas? The viral load, in and of itself, is antidotal evidence that the virus is weakening. Man you got it bad. Are you still angry with Breitbart the same way? Is there any outlet you're not hostile toward?

Again, can you read?

The lower viral load numbers WERE MEASURED! They were not anecdotal.

Now please apologize for defending trash news sites.

Can you? I just explained that is not what I was referring to?

I can see why this site bothers you. You skim over their material like you skim over my posts. You have no reading comprehension.

I think now you need to apologize to both of us. :)
