Always a joy to watch Nate Oats, Alabama coach, training and leading his boys in character and work-ethic (and hopefully, victories). I was best man at his parents' wedding and known Nate his whole life. Strong fundamental Baptist (grad of Maranatha Baptist University here in Watertown, WI) and amazing work with these young men.

Gave up being a Badger fan when Nate took over the Tide. Dislike the new system of plays jumping from one program to another on a whim or more $$. Not sure when college sports became professional?? Coaches don't get 3-4 years to really install values as well as teamwork anymore.

Years back A.C.E. Christian schools had their national convention at IU. 5k competing in a host of categories. Evening rallies held in the huge Assembly and walked by Knight's office. He asked me in and tell him about the convention. So had great time telling him about the Christian school movement (as contrasted to parochial/private schools or public schools) and these were all winners in state/regional competitions.

Chance to work in truths about salvation by grace vs works of most religions. Seemed genuinely interested.
