Lemon-heads candy is delicious, but now they have CHEWY lemon-head and friends candy.

Has this new discovery changed your life in a positive way? I LOVE THESE THINGS!

What is YOUR best candy?

Sears used to have a candy department and they sold fruit sours. You could get them mixed or individual flavors. Lemon, orange, cherry, lime. Every store had the red ones. I haven't had one in years, but I can still taste them.

Every once in a while I get a peanut butter cup that tastes like it was packaged and delivered the same day. I LOVE it when that happens! I may just go find their schedule and figure out how to get them the freshest because the worst thing that can happen with a peanut butter cup is that it is still in date, but you still get a crystal or three...YUCK!

I adore Reeses Buttercups and the gold wrap butternut crunch that comes in pink packaging.....these are difficult to obtain in NZ which is a good thing. I love Baskin and Robbins icecream with the peanut butter ribbon through it....I thought how totally disgusting but it is divine

Dark chocolate-covered orange jellies is my number 1.

After that, I love the fruit slices mentioned above. They are still available at Cracker Barrel and other places.

Another favorite that isn't really candy is dried pineapple or even more so, dried cantaloupe. Both are really good!

After that, citrus type fruit gels of almost any sort, dark chocolate of most tpes, salt water taffy, etc., are all on my list (unfortumately).

Edit...

My post prompted a search to see where I might be able to procure some of those chocolate covered orange jellies. They seem to be out of production, but I found these:

Might be a new favorite!

The same with the Butterfinger bar. Too often they're so old that the chocolate tastes stale, but occasionally I get a fresh one. Of course, I only buy one per month on the first of each month--if there are any. I just have to treat myself once in a while despite having diabetes.

Since you opened it up, I have a confession to make.

I love chocolate. I love pears! So when I saw a package of chocolates shaped like pears, I thought it was a chocolate pear mix and I WANTED IT! When I got home and found the English on the package, I realized it had brandy in it. In my stupidity I figured it was just flavoring.

It turned out they had NO pear flavor AT ALL. "Pear" is, ap"pear"antly, the brand name of some type of brandy.

I about puked. It was pear shaped, but the inside was a shot of liquid brandy.

So now you're warned. If you find pear shaped chocolates and you can't find the English on it readily, do NOT buy them.

And if you do, don't wonder "can it REALLY have tasted that nasty?" and then try another one to make sure.
