Well, yes. What the title says. :)

This has been my favorite since late June:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sQuDu42y7g

Even if I have been listening to it so much that I'm almost tired of it now.
But still, I love and identify so much with the message in this song. I even put a quote from it in my signature.
While there is no direct mention of God, the lyrics seem to be asking for His guidance. There is also a reference to the wolf in sheep's clothing. ("It's another werewolf; All dressed up in sheep's wool; And changing when the moon's full; Will You show me the way?") (Plus Adam Young, the artist, is a Christian.)

I do love that one, too.:thumbs:

Another old favorite of mine:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHhIRaPYEss

Curse this morning sun
Drags me in to one more day
Of reaping what I've sown
Of living with my shame
Welcome to my world
And the life that I have made
Where one day you're a prince
The next day you're a slave

Daddy, here I am again
Will You take me back tonight
I went and made the world my friend
And it left me high and dry
I drag Your name back through the mud
That You first found me in
Not worthy to be called Your son
Is this to be my end
Daddy, here I am
Here I am again

It's sad to see Christians often eating cotton candy and missing out of on the feasts of some of the more spiritual songs.

There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel’s veins;
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.
Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains;
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.

The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day;
And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away.
Washed all my sins away, washed all my sins away;
And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away.

Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood shall never lose its power
Till all the ransomed church of God be saved, to sin no more.
Be saved, to sin no more, be saved, to sin no more;
Till all the ransomed church of God be saved, to sin no more.

E’er since, by faith, I saw the stream Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.
And shall be till I die, and shall be till I die;
Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.

Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I’ll sing Thy power to save,
When this poor lisping, stammering tongue lies silent in the grave.
Lies silent in the grave, lies silent in the grave;
When this poor lisping, stammering tongue lies silent in the grave.

Compared to the old hymns, most of your contemporary Christian music is cotton candy, it tastes good, but it's got no substance to it, and it's bad for you... Sure it will make you feel good, but really there is no spiritual nutrition.

Hi, Jordan. I didn't really intend for this to be a debate thread. I've discussed the subject with you before and don't really wish to do so over and over. I'll agree to disagree :)

Out of curiosity, what say you of these lyrics:
Here I am, Lord, and I'm drowning in your sea of forgetfulness
The chains of yesterday surround me
I yearn for peace and rest
I don't want to end up where You found me
And it echoes in my mind, keeps me awake tonight
I know You've cast my sin as far as the east is from the west
And I stand before You now as though I've never sinned
But today I feel like I'm just one mistake away from You leaving me this way

Jesus, can You show me just how far the east is from the west
'cause I can't bear to see the man I've been come rising up in me again
In the arms of Your mercy I find rest
'cause You know just how far the east is from the west
From one scarred hand to the other

I start the day, the war begins, endless reminding of my sin
Time and time again Your truth is drowned out by the storm I'm in
Today I feel like I'm just one mistake away from You leaving me this way

I know You've washed me white, turned my darkness into light
I need Your peace to get me through, to get me through this night
I can't live by what I feel, but by the truth Your word reveals
I'm not holding on to You, but You're holding on to me
You're holding on to me

Jesus, You know just how far the east is from the west
I don't have to see the man I've been come rising up in me again
In the arms of Your mercy I find rest
'cause You know just how far the east is from the west
From one scarred hand to the other
One scarred hand to the other
From one scarred hand to the other

They're from a song called East to West by Casting Crowns.

Personally what I love most about music is good, meaningful, poetic lyrics. I love trying to decipher the meaning of the song. The world of Christian music is pretty vast and varied. You have bands like Casting Crowns wherein the majority of their music is based off Scripture, and then you have bands with lyrics containing Christian concepts and/or just praise music (Hillsong), then you have Christian bands that are on both the secular and Christian scenes (Switchfoot). Or even just some secular bands/artists whose members are Christian and espouse a Christian worldview in some of their songs (Owl City).

But really, this is just a thread about favorite songs in general. Which can include both Christian and secular. A few of my selections mentioned here have been secular, especially in my last post. I know you're not really on board with secular songs, that's fine. I don't really like anything and everything being turned into debate class. ^^; I walked into the world of CCM and secular music knowing full well all the objections and rationale against them...I grew up with those objections and rationale. I promise you I didn't leave those behind carelessly.

My daughter loves Owl City!! :)

I've got so many favorites and having just seen Keith and Kristyn Getty, I'll post this one:

Come People of the Risen King

Come, people of the Risen King,
Who delight to bring Him praise;
Come all and tune your hearts to sing
To the Morning Star of grace.
From the shifting shadows of the earth
We will lift our eyes to Him,
Where steady arms of mercy reach
To gather children in.

REFRAIN
Rejoice, Rejoice! Let every tongue rejoice!
One heart, one voice; O Church of Christ, rejoice!

Come, those whose joy is morning sun,
And those weeping through the night;
Come, those who tell of battles won,
And those struggling in the fight.
For His perfect love will never change,
And His mercies never cease,
But follow us through all our days
With the certain hope of peace.

Come, young and old from every land -
Men and women of the faith;
Come, those with full or empty hands -
Find the riches of His grace.
Over all the world, His people sing -
Shore to shore we hear them call
The Truth that cries through every age:
“Our God is all in all”!

I prefer how they do it now with more fiddle rather than the electric guitar. :)

A few months ago I bought Disciple's newest album. It had some very good songs, here's one of my favorites from the album:
Scarlet said:
When I think of all You are, I have no words
for Your greatness it outshines a thousand suns
And I think of how You love, so undeserved
there’s no darkness that your light can’t overcome
How great a love He has for us

Though my sins they be as scarlet
though my hands have been an enemy of God
Though my heart has played the harlot
You gave me more than I deserve
when You washed my whole world as white as snow

And I think of how You give, so endlessly
the universe is unable to contain
And when the skies fall apart, and the stars all fade
the world will end but your love it will remain
How great a love He has for us

Though my sins they be as scarlet
though my hands have been an enemy of God
Though my heart has played the harlot
You gave me more than I deserve
when You washed my whole world as white as snow

Leave me drowning in the flood
the ocean of your blood
Leave me drowning in the flood
the ocean of your blood

Though my sins they be as scarlet
though my hands have been an enemy of God
Though my heart has played the harlot
You gave me more than I deserve
when You washed my whole world as white as snow

Though my sins they be as scarlet
though my hands have been an enemy of God
Though my heart has played the harlot
You gave me more than I deserve
when You washed my whole world as white as snow

This is a cover of one of my favorites: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bWJw4hPKp0E

Seems though that the more I like a song, the less likely that it's online.

I also like the group Harmony Quartet (theyre on youtube) but most of there songs are in German. Sounds awesome all of it, but I only know "Gott" when I listen to the German ones.

Eta: I also liked these ones, although it comes with a bit of message and the songs halfway through. http://majesticgoldenrose.weebly.com/blog/growing-in-grace-16-minutes-of-the-mullet-family

I have got a lot of favorite songs, but what came to my mind first is the song, "Dare You To Move" by Switchfoot. Wonderful lyrics, awesome music.
