Federal judge accuses Mueller's team of 'lying,' trying to target Trump

A federal judge on Friday harshly rebuked Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team during a hearing for ex-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort – suggesting they lied about the scope of the investigation, are seeking “unfettered power” and are more interested in bringing down the president.

"You don't really care about Mr. Manafort,” U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III told Mueller’s team. “You really care about what information Mr. Manafort can give you to lead you to Mr. Trump and an impeachment, or whatever."

Further, Ellis demanded to see the unredacted “scope memo,” a document outlining the scope of the special counsel’s Russia probe that congressional Republicans have also sought.

"He summed up the argument of the Special Counsel’s Office as, "We said this was what [the] investigation was about, but we are not bound by it and we were lying.""

Finally. A judge that understands what is going on and is not willing to let Mueller and his thugs trample the constitution.

You beat me to it! Was just about to post.

Mueller’s team says its authorities are laid out in documents including the August 2017 scope memo – and that some powers are actually secret because they involve ongoing investigations and national security matters that cannot be publicly disclosed.

Ellis seemed amused and not persuaded.

He summed up the Special Counsel’s Office as, "We said this was what [the] investigation was about, but we are not bound by it and we were lying."

He referenced the common exclamation from NFL announcers, saying: "C'mon man!"

I'd like to be encourage by this, but not all judges are honorable, so I have no idea how optimistic I should be. But thank God some judges are honorable.

Mueller is an unethical dishonorable man. I'm convinced of it now. Just listen to the testimony of these two former assistant directors.

Start watching at the 2:40 mark.

I'm optimistic this will turn out well, and the country will not be harmed. Ultimately, the dems and liberal media are behind this. They are approving of it and driving it. I hope and pray they fail. They're evidence they will.

I didn’t see this when I posted mine.
He didn’t throw the case out, but he let them have it.

Opposition research coming on Ellis 3...2...1...

Mueller's thugs might go after him next. Evidently they don't believe they are limited in what or who or how far back.

They have now become just legalized thugs. They think they can do anything they want to.

If Rosenstein had any morals at all, he would rein them in.

What is more,

BREAKING: Judge in Manafort Case Orders Govt to Hand Over Unredacted Rosenstein Memo Detailing Mueller’s Scope

This is significant.

Mueller’s prosecutors argued they have certain authorities given to them which were laid out in Rosenstein’s August 2017 memo.

Judge Ellis scoffed at Mueller’s prosecutors who argued the memo has to be kept a secret because of ongoing investigations and ordered the unredacted memo to be released within a two week time frame.

.....

The judge also gave the government two weeks to hand over the unredacted “scope memo” or provide an explanation why not — after prosecutors were reluctant to do so, claiming it has material that doesn’t pertain to Manafort.

“I’ll be the judge of that,” Ellis said.
This is the same info they're refusing to hand over to Congress. Getting interesting to say the least.
