Finally, we have had a decent snowfall!
Today, we have shoveled (actually, I have a small snow blower ) about 8" of snow
We are about 1/2 of the way through the storm.

Are you jealous!!!

We had a glazing of freezing rain, followed by 2 inches of sleet, followed by 1 inch of snow.

Yeh, I’m kind of jealous. Enjoy.

peace to you

Is this 'lake effect' snow?

No - its the strom that came came across the nation.

Do you get 'lake affect' snow at your locale?

We missed the brunt of that storm, the worst of it stopped a few miles north of us. Rain, then freezing, then a dusting of snow on top of that. And, Glory Halleluiah! No loss of power!

I saw my first and last snow 20 years ago. Went up a mountain ski lift in Scotland as far as the snow line. Walked over to the snow, made snowballs and even threw them. People were looking at me like I was a complete idiot.
5 minutes of that and I went down the ski lift, never to encounter snow again.

Australia doesn’t get snow apart from the mountains in the eastern states, I’ve spent my life in the tropics in PNG and Australia. Snow is a very exotic thing to me.

Global warming!
The environmentalists changed the terminology to global climate change. That way, whether it gets hot or cold, more or less rain/snow, they can still make the argument the world is ending unless everyone does what they say.

Variations in weather patterns are mostly effected by sunspot activity or lack thereof.

peace to you
