I'm firm In my belief that churches today need an inreach before they ever get concerned with outreach.

The church I'm part of now has such a "heart for the lost" but there's one problem. They have no answer for the hope they have. Or they have misplaced hope. Or confused hope.

You pump up a bunch of spiritually inept people to go "evangelize" and you may have a bigger problem than lost people not veing reached. You just might get lost people running things

Good answer.

I look back on my own life and realize that when I took a class on evangelism as a new believer...I could barely articulate the Gospel. it was through that class that I grew in leaps and bounds. It was through sharing my faith that I learned what the Gospel is.

I would never preach evangelism just for the sake of evangelism--we need to know what the message is before we can share it with others.

Thanks for all the suggestions, folks. First sermon was 1 Cor 2:1-5. This next weekend I'm going to launch into a sermon series on Acts.
